We made an order from the Pizza Place last night, and it wound up being a terrible mistake. I've had pizza places mess up my orders before, so I made sure to repeat my order 3 times and have them repeat it back to me, to insure they wouldn't foul it up. Being as we live a half-dozen blocks from the place, we thought delivery would be fast and easy. An hour after ordering, we called to check on things. They said the food was on its way. Finally, after waiting an hour and a half for our order, the food arrived at our house. (Remember, we live ONLY 6 blocks from the place.) After paying, we opened the box to discover something we had not ordered and did not want. The delivery guy had already left, so we called them up. Not wanting to wait another 2 hours for them to get the order or a refund right, I thought I'd see if they could comp something on our next order. After explaining the situation to 5 people on the phone, and having them insist that we HAD ordered this thing we didn't want- they made us an offer. And their offer, for taking 1 1/2 hours on a $20 order they gotten completely wrong, was to give us a free topping on our next order. A $1.50 topping. Amid a flurry of expletives from my companion, I politely explained to them that we would never order from them again. Also, the toppings were not fresh on the pie they sent over. Avoid The Pizza Place. There are far better places with superior food and customer service in South Philly.
