i went into this office depot to get school supplies after school one day, as soon as i walked through the door, a lady starts yelling at me to take my backpack off. i take the bag off and leave it near the front. i go down the pen aisle and pick up a sharpie, and when i turn around, she is staring at me like i was doing something wrong. i walked away, and was looking at the laptops when i realized how offended i was to be treated like this just for being young. i put the sharpie down and walked to the front of the store, where i overheard the same woman telling her customers that she saw me with the sharpie and now i don't have it and that i am stealing from them. what if one of those people was someone i knew? a teacher or a friend of my mom's? i didn't do anything wrong and i was treated like a criminal.
