Caree cleaners is so overpriced - but for years I just continued to bring my dry cleaning and tailoring jobs to this place out of habit and laziness. They do an okay job on said services, but I recently had an unnerving experience which will definitely have me searching for a new dry cleaner. I went in one day and asked how much they would charge to replace a zipper on my coat. The guy said 30 bucks. I went in a couple of weeks later with the coat and the price had changed to 35 bucks. I dropped off the coat anyway and was told it would be ready in a week. I went back on the day that it was supposed to be ready and it wasn't. I went back the next day and although the job was finished - the tailor had replaced the silver zipper with a gold one. This was especially problematic since the pockets still had silver zippers. The whole thing looked ridiculous! It took another week for them to fix the job because they had to ""special order"" the silver zipper (!) When I went in to pick it up, I noticed that although the zipper had been changed to the correct color, the actual tab that you pull was still gold. Ridiculous! I didn't have the patience to continue on ... What really bothers me is that no one ever apologized. If they had said ""sorry about that"" I doubt if I'd be writing a negative review! Save your money - find a better dry cleaner in Prospect Heights.
