Debbie, the owner, is just excellent. My hair is straight, but will sometimes frizz, so it's very difficult to find someone who can give me a good cut. I have spent a lot of money at various salons in the Bay Area, and she is very reasonable. The cuts have been consistent, and they grow out very well. Plus, Debbie is such a good natured, fun person to talk to, and she never tries to sell you product. The architecture of the place is fascinating, too, with its antique floor to ceiling windows that swivel open like a revolving door. It's such a cheerful place, and it feels very old San Francisco, like stepping back in time.
Pros: better quality than more expensive salons; truly high-end haircuts
Cons: you pay for parking at Sutter/Stockton, but it's not that expensive
