Worst Excuse for a Gallery in the DFW metroplex 9/30/2007

I have been buying art for over twenty years now and I have never had an experience as bad as the one I had at ""iota"" on Knox street in Dallas, TX.\r \r From the moment I entered, the elderly man working there glared at me. I live in New York City and believe me, I can handle dirty looks from gallery owners who don't know I am there to make a serious purchase, yet. But then he sighed and rolled his eyes when I asked a question. For the record, I was asking about the origin of a piece and if the artist has any other work on the way in because the one I wanted was similar, but not exactly, what I saw on display at the time. \r \r Maybe this was a touchy subject to him. He stated that ""everything they had was on display"" - which was not exactly the question I asked, so I tried again.\r \r After the second time he rolled his eyes, sighed deeply, and answered me in a curt tone of voice, I thanked him and left.\r \r As I walked out the door, he said something like ""and don't come back, you idiot.""\r \r At least he was right about one thing: I was an idiot for going in there.\r \r Do yourself a favor: don't ever go into ""iota."" \r Pros: None, really. Cons: Extremely rude personnel. Bad parking. more
