As the Philly gay scene goes, Bike Stop certainly is an anomaly. It's not quite a club; not quite a neighborhood bar. There's live music, a weekly underwear party (called "Bulge"), a sports bar, and a leather enthusiast shop.
The crowd usually skews older but not always. It's definitely worth checking out but don't base your opinion on just one visit. Every night of the week brings a different crowd so give this place a few chances. One of the best things about Bike Stop is that you will almost definitely meet people you've never met at any of the other gay hangouts in town.
Pros: Drink prices, great staff, easy-to-talk-to customer base.
Cons: Some of the older customers can be a little too frisky...and a tad under-dressed.
