I would not recommend north olmsted softball to anyone and I am a former umpire. one of the teams, slam jams, uses illegal bats to which the officials will not punish. they also regularly show up highly intoxicated to their games and try to pick fights with everyone. very low class. they also have a player who wears a yellow cap who attempts to swing at the ball two steps in front of the batter box to which the officials do nothing but should be an out. during a recent game a play at home plate ocurred to which i witnessed one of slam jams players try to ""up end"" the other teams catcher which is illegal even after the catcher had no play and gave up yet the umpire would not eject the hitting player because they would have had to forfeit. Before the game the umpires were heard telling slam jams how good they were starting to look, possibly in some previous games. it sounds like the umpires, from my observation, have a majorly unfair bias towards this team and something should be done.
Pros: Softball is fun
Cons: poor officiating, umpires overpaid, lack of sportsmanship, commissioner is also a player
