This is my second experience with building a house with an architect. Oh my gosh what a disappointment compared with my first experience. Bottom line: This guy was never available for us, even though he told me during the pre- contract discussion I would be working directly with him on the design process. Find someone else!!!\r
USE THIS ARCHITECT IF: \r
-You expect nothing but a drawing of the architect's choice. \r
-You like someone who answers all the questions right on the interview, but never intends to keep his word.\r
-You don't mind having someone listen to your ideas, but does his own thing and is easily offended if you have some of your own ideas that you want or have to ask him to change his initial design. \r
-Don't mind feeling like you made a mistake early in the process, but have invested too much money to get out and don't mind maintaining a relationship with someone you are miserably unhappy with.\r
-You want to pay for an architect, but really want to have his draftsman do most of the design work.\r
-You Never want a response to your questions or concerns from the architect, unless you have to track him down when you have gotten to the point of being really angry, due to lack of communication.\r
-Want to be told by the architect that he will do something for you, but never follow through.\r
-If you want a house within a certain budget, but don't mind your builder telling you it will cost significantly more than expected and then paying the architect additionally, to make the changes as well, mostly because the architect has lost total contact with what your intentions were, if he remembers who you are in the first place. \r

Otherwise......go for it. My only positive comment is that the draftsman and other staff were very kind and understanding.
