Bogus Creek Cafe is the Place for Me 4/21/2007

I read about Stockholm Wisconsin in the Edina Magazine and drove about 65 miles to see for myself. They were right. What a cozy and tranquil village like stepping back into a Norman Rockwell picture! The Bogus Creek Cafe, served delicious atmosphere besides great tasting food. Background music so gentle to the soul, while we lingered over an assorted bread plate with sweet yummy butter spread until our lunch arrived. Being late in the afternoon, I quickly skipped over to their bakery across the boardwalk, located just below the doggie bakery upstairs, to buy some unbelievable tasty tarts for a dessert later. I ordered just a burger, but it didn't come that way. I still want to know what seasonings they scattered about the potato and various mixed vegetable combo, what a surprise. Don't expect a normal bun either. It came with cheese bread, and was it ever delicious. Even the coffee was endlessly great. Best of all, they have a friendly dog named Bogus (how fitting) he is worth meeting if you are lucky. After lunch we strolled around the boardwalk, checked out their working water mill, and other shops connected. This is a charming spot to stop. Like most quaint little towns along Wisconsin's scenic 35 by way, if you can make a week day stop all the better to miss the crowds. Don't miss this charming getaway. Pros: Tucked away from urban sprawl small town charm, delicious food more
