Worst Chinese Food in New York 4/8/2007

I'm Chinese so I can testify that this is by far the worse Chinese food I have ever eaten...and I'm comparing it to Americanized Chinese food, not even authentic Chinese food. First off, we had reservations for 15. It took them 45 min. to get us our table and the hostess kept lying saying they were setting up the table, then pushing the tables together, then that it'd take 10 more minutes. No apologies whatsoever...She was one rude bleep! So if you ever want to try this place, just a forewarning that they do not honor their reservations and have no qualms about it. Secondly, the food was horrible! Someone taught the chef that Chinese people only use soy sauce in their recipes. Most of our entrees were way too salty...chicken, beef, eggplant, broccoli, sea bass all soaked in a pool of soy sauce. No variety at all. Food that wasn't too salty was just bland...no flavor at all. The bartender couldn't get his recipe straight either because I ordered the same drink as my friend and instead of fresh pineapple, he decided to garnish my drink with a huge topping of ice. So after waiting 45 min. to get seated even though we had reservations, and eating or rather lack of eating the soy sauce drenched appetizers and entrees...we definitely did not opt to try any of the desserts. Instead, we ran to Dave and Busters right next door...which was a relief because one member of our party had an upset stomache from the food. The next day I found out a few more ppl. who had eaten there with me had upset stomaches as the night progressed. All I can say is eat at your own risk -- highway to high bloodpressure and an upset stomache. And a very frustrating start to a dining experience. If you're into staring at big stone horse statues, then go for it. Otherwise, I would recommend a place in one of NYC's Chinatown's -- closest one to PF CHang's would be a restaurant located in the Chinatown located in Main Street, Flushing (Queens).
