My best friend and I discovered this gem during Restaurant Week about three years ago, and have been hooked ever since. The service is, without question, the BEST I've had in any city and outshines all others in Boston. As noted in the other post, Greg is amazing and incredibly nice, as is the rest of the staff. They're the most professional, accomplished, and genuinely nice people I've ever come across! Not a hint of preciousness or snottiness that many Boston ""fine restaurants"" have. \r

The Stanhope is so good that my husband and I held our wedding reception there last weekend, and it couldn't have been more perfect. If our spending over $10K on this place isn't a vote of confidence, I don't know what is! The warm ambiance, comfy seating, and warm glow from the kitchen made all of our guests rave! The room was full of laughter and joy, and the staff were always there before we even noticed we needed something. Again, it couldn't have been better, and I can't praise this place enough, and hence the title seeking a sixth star! \r

If you want to throw an event that will absolutely be wonderous, THIS is the place. And, if you want a cozy, quiet romantic dinner, the Stanhope will ensure it exceeds your expectations. The food is wonderful, with large portions that are always perfectly cooked. The food isn't cheap, but the entire event and perfect service will be worth every cent you spend. \r

And, last but not least, we had breakfast at Stanhope after our wedding and it was incredible. Tons of fresh fruit on the buffet, perfect steaks for my parents, and a great waffle for me. SO good!
Pros: Perfect service, great food, intimate setting
Cons: I haven't found a single one in the five meals I've had there!
