ichiban is my favorite when i want sashimi, sushi rolls, or tempura. first, the sashimi appetizer is truly delicious. please ask for the vegetable tempura when dining with a guest who is unfamiliar with japanese cuisine. your adventurous guest will begin to see the joy in this type of food. next, crunchy baked salmon with eel sauce is phenomenal. everyone loves this one. even the newbies to sushi. of course, as others have written, the variety of rolls: spider, volcano, cowboy, yuzan, are all quite yummy. totally agree. what i haven't heard mentioned in any of the reviews, and surprised by(maybe you just didn't know), is the TNT mussels! order early. takes awhile to prepare.
Pros: dining there is quite relaxing and the staff is personable. very important to me.
Cons: i always have to call ahead to reserve a booth. i think their tables aren't as relaxing.
