Not So Great Sushi 8/28/2006

I took my bo to Tsunami last night for the first time and was told it was really good, but after trying it for myself, I came to a different conclusion. The food was very much mediocre (my least favorite compared to anywhere else I have ever had sushi!) and very small portions for the price. I suppose the price is a little higher than most, but that is by just looking at the menu. Once you receive your small portions of food, it makes it that much more expensive for the money. You can pay less at Ahh Sushi, Happy Sumo, Ginza...any of the regulars, and pay a little less, and get much larger portions. (As an example, if you order the tempura vegie plate at Ahh Sushi, it is huge, and is around $7. We ordered the same appetizer last night at Tsunami, w/i $1 of the price at Ahh, but there were 6 pieces of tempura vegies on the tiny plate. It is a mound of food at Ahh Sushi.)\r \r I was also told it was really nice inside, and romantic, but it was also just mediocre. It felt more like a lunch spot, casual dining, than something really nice, and/or romantic.\r \r It is an ok place, but not really worth it unless you just happen to be close and not near another sushi restaurant. Pros: Somewhere new to try Cons: Overpriced for the small portions, bland, nothing impressive more
