After going to many ma & pa type diners and receiving mediocre food we decided to try Gaylord's for their breakfast buffet. The atmosphere was country-elegant, the service prompt and the food, good. White linen table cloths, pleasant outdoor seating, a guitarist in a Hawaiian shirt providing soft background music and an all-you-can-eat buffet. The food was average: french toast, eggs, pastries, sausage, hot tea & coffee, fresh cut fruit, etc. Guava juice was freshly squeezed, yum.
We roamed the first floor of this old plantation home, charming, not upscale elegant, but old island charming. Very nice atmosphere. Be sure to make a reservation or you will have to wait your turn. This is a good value for the money.
Pros: beautiful setting, clean, elegant, good value
Cons: might have to wait
