Aged, Overpriced, Lame 2/6/2006

I came for the 2006 CES, along with thousands of others. That's hard on a hotel, but no excuse for charging $350 per night for a second-floor room facing a parking lot. Inside the room, I found the lighting consisted of wretched flourescents that were bright enough for surgery. There are thoughtful ways to design lighting. And then there is the Hilton's ready-for-surgery in your room approach. I had to turn the bathroom light OFF to take a shower, and use the reflected flourescent from the hallway. It lit up the whole bedroom, plus the bath. Ick! At the business center, I sent a package out on Sunday, paid for two-day shipping, and they didn't send it until Tuesday, so I got my stuff on Thursday. How lame is that? Very. Close to events, but I'd rather walk a mile than stay there again. Pros: Close to convention, Tempo Bar Cons: Horrifying lighting, Business dis-services, Value more
