I desperately wanted to like Safran. I love Asian food, and it seemed like the prefect combination of yummy, cozy, and chic. We ordered the lobster summer rolls which arrived at our table with a ""spicy sauce"" that looked and tasted like a poor man's Thousand Island Dressing. The lobster summer itself was tasteless. The sogginess of the rice wrapper indicated it had been prepared too far in advance, Saran wrapped, and marinated in it's own condesation. The Saigon beef noodle dish was drenched in a tasteless brown sauce that employed too much corn starch. The tofu trio was good, but the brown rice that accompanied it was dried out. I prefer the Uncle Ben's boil-in-the bag rice I make at home. We spent $100 (including tip) on dinner, and would have been happier with the local take-out. The entire dinner was prepared by amateurs.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Terrible food, Overpriced
