Don't let the gorgeous, lush interior turn you away -- this is NOT an overpriced, overhyped ""lounge."" Common Ground is simply a great East Village bar with the good sense to not look and smell like the bathroom at CBGB's. (It looks like a late 19th century American mansion, replete with canvas-bound books and chandeliers.)
The staff is awesome (the beauty of the interior is only rivaled by that of the waitresses), and the owner is usually lurking around to make sure everyone is having a good time.
Bonuses: Board Games, Naked Photo Hunt, and a killer jukebox.
