one night with modest expectations but was very pleasantly surprised. I dined alone this evening. The setting was comfortable and moderately intimate with a huge flower arrangement (was it in the center of the room?). Service was unprentientous and attentive. The food was outstanding and exceeded my expectations. I wish I had ordered the shrimp cocktail, they were huge (and very expensive). My NY Strip was cooked right- Medium was red and barely warm in the center. The portion was a bit smaller then I am used to but was thick enough to be very juicy. McMahon's compares favorably to my standard of excellence, Morton's in Chicago on State st. Outback and S&S aren't even in the same league.
