AWESOME stand-up comedy on Tuesday (audience: free). It's ""open mic"" -- anyone can do 5 minutes. The crowd is very supportive. It's hosted by Damion Sammarco and Joey Gay. To do stand-up, arrive around 7:30. Pay $7; order of performance is determined by lottery. ""The Train Wreck"" is in its fourth year, and is one of the better open mics in town. (You don't have to bring anyone.) Also from 7 to 8 Tuesdays: open-mic comedy for women called ""Joy Stick."" I've heard very good stand-up and sketch comedy there. There is also open mic comedy on Wednesdays and Thursdays. And karaoke, too, hosted by Jeannie Sol.
