Growing up with the ocean as my backyard and neighbors as lobstermen, I'll admit that I am a seafood snob. I've lived in DC now for almost 6 years and it took me 5 years to finally agree to eat a crab. I never understood why someone would eat a crab when they could eat a lobster. For as many great reviews as Crab Shanty gets, I'll give it a worthwhile mediocre rating. I mean I don't understand how people can expect to have a great seafood dinner nowhere near the ocean. In my opinion, its overpriced for what you get. The atmosphere is neat the first time you go but after that, the scallops left me with a stomach ache and my back pocket alot lighter than when I walked in.
