Overcharge and Seem to Discriminate against Women 3/24/2009

There are few things worse than having to spend a few hundred dollars you've worked hard to save up on a car problem that's unexpected and beyond your control. One of those things is learning after the fact that you were overcharged. In this case, there were some problems with my brakes that I paid about $500 to Groovy Automotive this weekend to have fixed. I've since learned from 4 different people who are more knowledgeable about cars than I that there is no way a problem with brakes should ever cost that much. I was recommended Groovy Automotive by my boyfriend who feels he's always received good service and reasonable prices from them which, combined with the other reviews I've read about them has me convinced that Groovy Automotive feels that women, on account of their being women, deserve to pay more for car repairs than men. I know this isn't surprising for an automotive repair place, but it's still damned infuriating." more
