I remember the good old days when the zoo was FREE!!!! Yes the zoo is better kept now, but It can be a little expensive to take a family of 5. There are also not a lot of indoor things to get away from the heat. I was there were more free days, like the museam offers. On the good side, my kids love going and the animals are well keep.
