Yes, we do endure the 2 hour drive to Philly from NYC but its so worth it. Or we hop the chinatown buses when we are too tired to drive for the questionable ride for $20 round trip.
Philly is a great city but what makes it even better is the wonderful Italian restaurant located in Little Italy. Old world style ambiance, old fashioned family staff and savory Italian dishes. I never knew Italian could taste so good!
My friend and I go there at least a few times a year just for the Veal and Chicken dishes that range $13 -$17 per entrée. Each entrée is accompanied by a side of veggies or pasta so you are guaranteed to get your fill. All the other pasta dishes are very reasonably priced at around $7-$12. The sauce for the veal house special is amazing...it consists of melted mozzarella and butter. Very heavy and very satisfying. If only NYC had a restaurant that compared, you wouldn't be able to secure a reservation. Thinking about it now...I think its about time I go back for another round of good eatings.
