Bought a leather sectional years ago. Salesman said leather everywhere the body touches. Oh really, the seat cushion sides were vinyl or fake material so they started to tear. Stainsafe warranty guy came many times and it was never properly repaired. You know why? It can't be repaired. He used some heat tool melted it and sure enough constantly fell apart.a few years later I went back to Darvin. I figured it was my loss my mistake for not buying all leather. I purchase a loveseat and sofa and I purposely asked if it was all leather. Worse than before. Th whole things are bond d leather crap. Their peeling like paint or tape. Disgusting. I will badmouth Darvin to everyone because they have ignored my concerns. more

Shame on Darvin, we purchased 4000.00 worth of furniture and then were sold a bogus warranty to go along with the crappy furniture. Never will I spend a dime in the store again and I will tell everyone I know the same. Terrible costumer service! more

I have purchased from Darvin twice and both times my experience was wonderful.My last purchase of a Canadel table and chairs for my kitchen was amazing Rebecca was my sales person and she had the patience of a saint she helped my make decisions for 3 hours on a busy Sunday. She introduced me to the extremely expensive Canadel which I was very hesitant to spend $4500 on kitchen table but I am really happy I did. It is absolutely beautiful and the chairs are extremely sturdy and heavy unlike my previous set that my 1 1/2 year old could knock over and cracked half of them these chairs will still be in my kitchen 20 years from now. Thank you Darvin you are truly the best! more

This place is a joke! We ordered a sectional and custom fireplace on January 1st. They finally deliver my furniture on March 18th. In the process of bringing in my sectional they shattered a picture, gouged, scratched and dented our walls and trim and tore the sectional. Then they bring in my custom fireplace which we waited 2 months for. It was the wrong fireplace. When we sat down with the manager we received no apology and only offered to give us $100 off the price of this sectional. I will never shop Darvin Furniture again! Absolutely horrible experience. more

Darvin has a great selection, however their furniture is expensive and the quality is terrible. They will do everything they can to avoid making any repairs that are supposed to be covered on their warranty. Two years ago I purchased a sectional that cost me $3000 and I also purchased a 7 year warranty with it. About 8 months after I purchased it, the springs that held up the bottom part of the chair broke off from the wood. I tried for months to get them to come repair it but they would not return my calls. The store gives you the run around, telling you to call the warranty company, who then tells you to call the manufacturer, who will direct you back to the store... it's an absolute nightmare. I also called again to get a small hole in the cushion fixed. They asked how it happened and when I told them I didn't know, they said they would not cover it because I didn't not know what caused it. This place has terrible customer service. I will never purchase here again. more

This store does not deserve good customers. I spent hours shopping for furniture after being lured in by advertisements of "big sale" and "no money down". Once I selected furniture I was told by sales people that I would be required to leave a deposit on every piece I selected. While I would not have had any problem giving a deposit with regard to a sofa that was being customized, I resented doing so for pieces I selected from clearance. I left approx. $1400.00 in down payments, $800 on the sofa alone to learn weeks later that the sales people never ordered the sofa and was holding my money gaining interest with no consideration to me at all. I was told the sofa was placed in a Customer will call status because my financing had not been finalized. Although, the financing was actually approved within two business days after I was left the store. So what possible excuse could they have for not placing the order after holding $800 of my money and a credit approval in hand? Also, at no time was I informed of the Customer will call status before I left the store. I was also given a date for when I could expect delivery of the sofa. I found some sales people and even the credit manager, in my humble opinion to be idiots. Anyway, I found doing business with this Darvin Furniture store simply ridiculous and very unpleasant. I am shopping for another furniture store for future purchases. more

We bought a Sofa and Loveseat for the new house. The salesman talked my wife into the $150.00 stain master agreement. Said it covered everything for 7 years. after a year the cushions started pilling. And then started ripping after 2 years. We paid $3,000.00 for the set. Called Stain Master and they said they don't cover wear -out. The set is only 2 years old!!! I have sofa's bought at Montgomery Ward that are over 20 years old and they are made of cloth too! Well I guess you find out why some places stay in business. They sell items that last a year past the warranty. Other places go out of business because they sell quality items that last a long time. I will never buy from Darvin again....Klaussner Vaughn Loveseat and Couch Lifetime limited warranty on frames. 5-year limited warranty on springs. 1-year limited warranty on cushions and leather or fabric. more

I ran out there when I saw a nice TV stand that looked like it was the size and color we wanted. The half off sale price didn’t mean much, with furniture mark up if you wait everything is eventually half off… Anyways, the stand was what we wanted, it was a pick up only deal and you have to run to their warehouse 10 minutes away. I get there, the wait is short and they tell me to drive around to pick the thing up. Two guys throw it in the back of my SUV, it’s still in the box. I don’t want to take it out of the nice packing, but I did ask what happens if it is screwed up. They said give them a call, it won’t be a problem, and that they sold a bunch of these without any issues. I take the thing home and as I’m bring it in a hear something rattling around. When I opened it I realized that there was a cabinet door that came loose and rattled around, scratching up the the unit. The reason the door was loose was obvious, there was a flaw in it an someone did a miserable job of trying to refinish the blemished area. When they finished I guess they didn’t put it on right. It’s late Sunday night, but I was still able to get one call in. I got bounced around, asked for the order number, and then disconnected. I could not get back to anyone after that, they were closed. The receipt stated in very larger letters, sold AS IS, No Warrantee, No Exchange. This is all right next to my signature stating I picked the thing up. I figured I was screwed. I went back the next day, with the bad cabinet door and a few other face pieces that were screwed up. I know what receipt said, I was planning on fighting for the chance to at least get the better pieces off of their display model, and I figured I had a fight ahead of me. To my complete surprise, they said no problem, and sent a truck out the next day with a new piece. Considering that this was a low priced item that was only available as pickup-only, I was really shocked. My wife and I went to Darwin's a couple of months ago to look for some living room furniture. We put a deposit down for a chair and ottoman with the stipulation that they would mail us a fabric sample for us to approve. They said they would wait to get our approvals before actually placing the order, if we didn't approve the deposit would go back on our credit card. We received the sample and didn't not like the color, so we did not give them our approval to order. A couple of weeks later the entire purchase price of the chair and ottoman was charged to my credit card. When I called to protest, all they had to say was that we ordered it, which of course we had not. I then asked to talk to the store manager who was very rude and said that if the sales person said we ordered it that he would believe them over us. The sales person lied just to get his commission! This is the worst customer service I have ever seen. While I liked some of the furniture there, I definitely warn you to stay away! I am still trying to get my money back, now through my credit card company. What a terrible experience! more

I bought 2 bed room sets from Darvin a year later the wood bed frame broke, I was told that they had no frames for this bed and they did not have any information on the manufacturer. I was told maybe you can find a carpenter to fix the bed. Totally unacceptable. This year the frame to the other bed broke, the frame is costume made to the head and foot board again, they could not provide a frame and they had no manufacturer's information. Now that I am writing this I am getting upset I need to take this problem to someone who can help me and not a salesperson. more

This is the 2nd time I have purchased furniture at Darvin in Orland and have waited 2 to3 months to get my furniture. And it isn't custom furniture. 3 months? I received my bed after 2 months and now I wait for the dresser. They give me new dates every 2 weeks. I have heard Orland does this often selling what they do not have. I wish I would have asked sooner. I bought my kitchen table at Crate &Barrel. Delivered that week! Sure they apologize but after 12 weeks it's unacceptable. So I better only give 1 star to Darven! more

I love Darvin but I just ordered a bedroom set and it will take 8 weeks for delivery. If you are going to order from them have patience. more

Darvin is an enormous furniture retailer in the southwest suburbs. They have every brand of furniture you can think of and also offer home decor items. The best time to go is when they do the tent sales twice per year. You can find many good deals. Otherwise they offer great financing plans which also works out as a great deal. I have purchased many of my own furniture pieces here and will continue to do so. more

Darvin Furniture, located on LaGrange Road (across from TGI Fridays) in Orland Park has one of the largest selections of furniture in the south suburbs.They feature Pennsylvania House, Bassett, Berkline, Thomasville, Lane, Broyhill, Serta just to mention a few brands. The sales staff is attentive but not annoying nor clingy, and they seem knowledgeable of the various product lines. The only limitation to Darvin is that the store is SO big it is almost overwhelming when you first start shopping. But if you seek out a sales associate they will guide you to what you are looking for, and they give you the space to look without hovering over you. I bought recliners there recently and the sales are great. The customer service is great - my mom bought a sofa that had spots on it and they sent someone to clean it. A great place to shop no matter what kind of furniture you're looking for. more
