I was shocked to see the negative review and complaint about the writer's elderly relative being overcharged. My own experience with Rudy's was outstanding. My outdoor faucet would not shut off. It was late at night and I called the fire department to ask how I could shut it off. They came out and also could not turn it off, but were able to stop the water flow by using a pistol-grip hose nozzle. They told me I would need a plumber because this was a broken valve inside a wall. The next morning I called several other plumbers. None could come until late in the day. When I called Rudy's they dispatched a plumber quickly. He arrived at my home in less than an hour. He confirmed that this was a broken valve in the wall and that he would need to cut into the wallboard to repair it. He replaced the valve and completed the entire job in a very short period of time. After I paid him what I considered to be a more than reasonable fee, he asked me if I would like him to put the wall board back in place. Since I had guests arriving shortly, I told him that would be appreciated. He put the cut piece of wall board back in place as a temporary fix, and then moved a piece of furniture so that it would not be visible. Today we had another plumbing situation arise. When my husband called Rudy's they did some great fact finding and determined that it was not something they deal with. They could easily have sent a plumber out and charged us to tell us we needed to call someone else, but they were able to determine this over the phone at no charge. We truly appreciated their honest approach.

I wanted to write a quick note as a positive reference for PK Electric. I had work done twice at my home. The first time, I had a guy stop by and fix some light switches that were incorrectly wired. I also had him work on some outlets that I wanted switched out. He was quick, thorough and very pleasant. The second time I had more work to do, and the company sent two guys. The two guys weren't as experienced as the first guy, but as soon as I mentioned this fact to PK Electric, they accordingly adjusted my bill to reflect the difference. All work was performed in a satisfactory manner and they were on time and diligent.

I have worked in the veterinary field for over 18 years and have seen the very best dental care done at the Mercer Island Veterinary Clinic. The approach is at the level of the very best human dental practice with each tooth carefully checked and then x-rayed to check for root and bone health. The Nursing staff is highly trained and knowledgeable of anesthesia and dentistry, and all other team members compassionate and caring. I highly reccomend this team for any dental needs.

I discovered Island Cats years ago as a nanny, taking the family's cat in for a check up. I thought at the time that it was a bit silly to have a vet for cats only, but changed my tune as I saw their wonderful location, their generous nature, and friendly help. I continued my relationship with them when I got my own cat, even though they're on Mercer Island and I was living on Queen Anne! They have been an incredible help to me as I fostered kittens and their moms for PAWS, providing the help we needed both in advice over the phone as well as in-vet services. My two boys now go there regularly, and always receive the love and attention they need, even though they both have "danger" stickers on their files for bad behavior! Oh, my boys. Island Cats will always be the first place I recommend for cat care!

Do yourself a favor and have Deven paint your house.
When I bought my house about a year ago I new that ti would be needing to hire a painter. After many years of poor maintenance and rainy Seattle winters the siding on the south side had begun to fail. The paint was cracking and peeling and some of the boards had begun to warp.
i got 6 different bids with a WIDE range of prices. Deven at Tall Painting came in at the high end of the middle, but came across as having the most expertise as well as being the most trustworthy.
It took about 2 weeks to do all the prep and paint, and in the end I was ecstatic. The house looks fantastic and is in much better shape to take many more Seattle winters.

...near the mountains. The best bachelor party I ever attended was up in whistler for a weekend. Given that you only have $50/person and one day (presumeably), why not hire a big van/small bus, truck everyone out to Alpental or Snoqualmie to ski for the afternoon/evening (i think lift tickets are reduced price if you start skiing after 3 p.m.), truck everyone back to the city and head straight to Pioneer Square for burgers and beers at the J&M Card Room and finish up the night at the just-tasteless-enough Cowgirls Inc? There's nothing cooler than rolling in to Pio bars in an old-school ski bib. If I had to plan a buddy's bachelor party in Seattle on short notice with a modest budget during the winter, that's the direction I'd go. Good luck.
