Freestate is by far my favorite restaurant. The food is amazing, the beer is amazing, and the service too, is amazing. Their wheatstate golden paired with the hot artichoke dip can't be beat. My personal favorite is their tuna sandwich. Yum! A MUST try!

Love Garden has thousands of used cds, not just junkers either. I have bought at least 10 there. prices a little high, $9 standard for recent, some lower, but ya gotta support the local merchants. They have expanded over the years into new CDs as well. Used vinyl for those inclined. Cats on site, provide ambience. Staff is quiet, not in your face.

smack dab in the middle of KANSAS. I have always wondered why. They have a great selection of surf gear. I guess if you are into looking like a surfer/skater than this is the place to shop. I like their selection of flip flops that they carry in the summer time. They have tanning beds, but I have never tried them out.

If you are a normal Lawrence hippie, you will love the merc. They sell all kinds of organic products for yourself and your kids. They even have a video rental place with organic tapes. How cool is that? They have a lot of bath products, and such, but they have food too. They have a good kitchen that makes organic treats that you can eat while you shop for organic tapes. It's not cheap, for sure, but it's the only place around like it.

I frequently have to go pick up yarn orders downtown for my mother and they are almost always from the yarn barn. Even though I'm just a high school student, I am treated like a regular customer each and every time. I've never knitted or stitched once in my life, but they are still friendly to me. They have high tech spinners and cool yarn things that I don't know what they do, but it seems much more advanced than other yarn shops aroudn town. They have tons and tons of colors of yarn to pick from. I see why my mom loves the place.

I have shopped here since they opened back ion the 90's! They have the greatest selection..whether you are looking for a new pair of jeans or a halloween costume. The staff is friendly and always has the coolest oufits on. It;s like walking manicans.
I love the location and the fact that you can trade your old clothes in for a new outfit!
