smack dab in the middle of KANSAS. I have always wondered why. They have a great selection of surf gear. I guess if you are into looking like a surfer/skater than this is the place to shop. I like their selection of flip flops that they carry in the summer time. They have tanning beds, but I have never tried them out.

I have been a customer at Hair Experts since I moved to Lawrence in 1993. I have NEVER found any of the staff at Hair Experts to be anything but helpful, accomodating and courteous. If you are looking for a cheap hair place then Hair Experts is not for you....go to Great Clips and pray.... However, it really is a case of you get what you pay for-the best trained stylists and colorists around. They go to New York and other places every year for training on the very latest techniques in cutting and coloring hair. They are the best of the best. I have always been so happy with my hair there over the years. Keri Trucello is my stylist and she is amazing. Terri is also awesome....honestly, they are all great, you can't go wrong.
Pros: talented staff, great atmosphere, friendly
Cons: expensive, busy place so you must book in advance to get the time you want

Munchers Bakery is the perfect place to go if you want to kill your diet. I love it so much. The baked goods are fresh and satisfying. This place is open 24 hours a day so you can fill a sweet craving at anytime at a cheap price. Try the cream cheese donuts. You should only eat one, but they are so good take a few to go.

The Yoga Center of Lawrence has a great staff and a great facility. They do have some free yoga classes for the person that is interested in trying yoga. The classes are in downtown Lawrence and the space has beautiful hardwood floors brick walls and huge sunny windows. It is a great space. They have mats and blankets and other props and books to buy there.

I love to get massages. This is the best by far. They have several people in the salon who are trained in giving massages. They have a nice little room set up for just this. I love that they are usually not too busy, so you can usually get in with short notice. They have the best staff and the best location. The price is a little steep, but I don't mind paying a little extra for god service.

Usually, when one thinks of a beauty academy, they think of horrible hair cuts, painful pedicures, ect. Z's cosomotology has always provided good service, knowlegable staff, and great price. I've had highlights, hair cuts, and manicures at this place and they are all affordable. The highlights came out just fine, albeit it took for ever because of my long hair. You know how long it is Kate!! The manicure was soooooooooooo relaxing. Everything is done under the supervision of a teacher, so you know that they can help correct errors. Staff is always nice. Price is very affordable. A great place to get styles for any occasion.

I went to A Cut Above once for a quick trim. They aren't the friendliest bunch but they got the job done. They weren't over priced like most salons in town are. I never went back because I found a better place, where they were more friendly and personable. But, if you just want to get in and out without all the "fuss" I could recommend this place.

I can go to snip n clip and get a better haircut. I would not spend the $ on this salon. I have had several people tell me about having to go back and get recut. They also have over priced products. The sell high dollar stuff....but I guess that they are in the prime location for the higher class...wanting to waste their $ on expensive haircuts.
The staff is friendly and happy.

You will more than likely find everything you need, as far as beauty products go, at the Beauty Depot. They are a little pricey and don't seem to have very good sales, but if you are looking for that hard to find product, this is the place for you.
