This is a great place for those out of towners who do not have curb side pick up to drop off their recycling. Plus this is a great place to unload tons of cardboard all at once. You can go at any hour to drop off your glass, plastic, cans, newspaper, cardboard and phone books. Be prepared that come Saturday morning, they are going to be busy! There are big metal containers that are clearly marked for tossing in your items.

Good selection of foods for your pet. The puppies/kittens are in somewhat dirty environment. I would question if they are the result of a "puppy mill" type situation. Reasonable prices on the pets though. Store is clutters and a bit dirty. Offer flowers in the spring and fresh produce in the summer in the parking lot. Has it’s own parking lot, but not very well maintained (lots of pot holes).

Provide all services from massage to hair styling to nails. Many experienced and friendly stylists and staff available. Well lit and very clean environment. Owner on site most of the time. Excellent in dealing with difficult hair (due to hard water). A bit pricey - but worth every penny. Stylists all attend annual seminars to ensure they are up-to-date with all the latest styles.

Sueppel’s Flowers Inc. in Iowa City Iowa is a great place to purchase flowers for all occasions. I have purchased flowers here on different occasions and have never been disappointed. They have city wide delivery which is great if you want to have your flowers delivered. They gave me some great customer service; I would recommend Sueppels Flowers to anyone.

Newer veterinary clinic with full service for small pets. They specialize mostly in dogs and cats but will do an occasional bird or other household pet. Knowledgeable vets on staff and friendly front desk helpers. Very clean and well organized. They also offer pet boarding which includes private kennel as well as walks for your dog each day. Own parking lot and nicely shaded.

Lots of plants and seeds available. Nice selection of trees and shrubs as well. Good guarantee on trees. Store is a bit older, but clean and the staff are very helpful. Great place to get those landscaping items needed to beautify your yard. Occasionally have small birds and fish available. Large parking lot and easy to get to. Large outside shopping area as well.

Kidworks is a descent place to get used kids clothing and toys. You need to be prepared to dig and go through the clothes. You can find some good bargains here. Face it, kids do not stay in sizes for very long. Why spend the new prices. You might miss this since it is kind of off the beaten path, but do not miss turning onto Stevens Drive to hit this store.

I go to Earl may several times and year to purchase these suppllies and the employees are always very nice and they always have a great selection of plants. They have so many nice plants its hard to decide which ones to buy. But I am always happy with my selection!!

This place is one of my favorites and has been for more years than I like to count! Not only does it have fantastic deals on re-sale items....stock left overs and such but it has the best selection of scrubs anywhere and in loads of colors too!
Now, this might not be a selling point for many of you, but for me, well, let me just say there isn't anything as comfy as scrubs to wear around the house and since the U has gotten stinky about "acquiring" scrubs from the hospital....well, this is the next best thing!
This is also a great place for those Bohemian clothing lovers out there.....there isn't a time I have been in here in the past few years that I haven't seen some cool gauzy skirts or other ethnic clothing that was begging to be bought AND worn!
you see, the best part about a college town is "anything goes"!!! And this is the place to find it!
Next time you are in downtown Iowa City keep an eye pealed on Washington Street....you will see a little stairway leading DOWN.....that's the only entrance to RAGSTOCK and the beginning of a great relationship! Happy Shopping!
