Not so kid (or parent) friendly 7/12/2011

On the surface; the practice of Dr. Dallman/Yea looks enticing to both kids and their parents. Beautiful waiting room! Free coffee! Comfy couches! Gas fireplace! Balloons! Prizes! But after bringing my kids to this practice for several years; we are moving on. There is a reason the waiting room looks so enticing - they WANT YOU TO STAY THERE; on the other side of the large sound proof door; and do not want you watching or interfering as they care for your child. If you are willing to go along with whatever these dentists recommend; you will get along fabulously. If you have questions, want to be involved in your childs dental experience, or have a child that does not fit into their normal 'protocol' for how they do things; watch out. Dr. Yea took great offense when I began to ask questions about the treatment plan for my child - she felt I was questioning her professional judgment. I wasn't completely against the treatment plan; I just had questions that I did not feel were anwered. And Dr. Dallman isn't particularly great with kids - seems like he really has to force himself to be friendly. At the end of a check-up exam; when I was ALLOWED in the back to see my child and speak to the dentist; Dr, Dallman and his assistant often would speak in hushed tones to each other - not wanting me to hear what they were saying, pointing at the chart and whispering to each other. When he does speak to parents; it is often in a condescending tone. If you are looking for a pediatric dentist that is professional, knowledgable, great with kids, involves parents in the care, sense of humor....then keep looking. more

Not so kid (or parent) friendly 7/11/2011

The office of Dr. Dallman/Yea is very enticing to both parents and kids alike - Beautiful waiting room! Free coffee! Comfy couches! Balloons for the kids! Prizes! But when it gets down to it; the office isn't that kid-friendly after all. There is a reason the waiting room is so fancy; they WANT YOU TO STAY THERE!!! They do not want you back behind the large; sound proof doors. They do not want you to ask questions. If you start asking questions; they will accuse you of questioning their professional judgement. Not that I was completely AGAINST the treatment plan they had outlined for my child; I just had questions about it. Luckily; I have found a pediatric dentist in the area that I am much happier with (and whom also has an open-door policy; allowing you to be with your child if you wish). Ironically; this other dentist had basically the same treatment plan for my child; but she just did a much better job of answering my questions; and providing me with the answers I was looking for. If you are looking for a dentist that loves kids, is experienced, listens to parents and actively involves them in their childs' care, then keep looking. There is one out there. more

Not happy with care 5/30/2011

The kids love going and getting the toys. However after about 3 visits I am tired of his attitude towards our family choices for flouride and xrays. both of which I was willing to discuss but not with his attitude towards me. For cleaning I am ok with kids going back by themselves but NOT for anything else....I also feel like we are paying for his office. Rest of staff is very kind. more

High staff turnover speaks volumes 4/14/2011

Pros: Beautiful and comfortable waiting room. Friendly hygenists who are great with kids. Cons: After using him for a few years we've decided to go elsewhere because Dr. Dallman is not particularly friendly or good with kids. He seems like he has to really work at interacting with the kids - it doesn't come naturally to him. In addition, as someone else noted, he has extremely high staff turnover, which usually says a lot about a place. Finally, it is really hard to get an appointment because they have very few afternoon appointments - yet they are a pediatric dental office. Most kids are in school during the day. Yet they won't let you schedule two afternoon appointments during a year. more

felt right at home 3/30/2011

We got just what we wanted in a dentist. Caring and compassionate with a flare that keeps kids content! I wont go anywhere else. more

awesome 2/7/2011

We feel very blessed to have had Dr. Dallman as our kids dentist for the past 13 years. We unfortunately moved away from the area but we have to say Dr. Dallman and staff are always very helpful and accomodating and they do a great job. My kids look forward to the toy machine each visit and the personelized goody bag. Going to Dr. Dallman was a very positive experience for our kids and I wished that I had had such a great dentist when I was a child. Maybe then I wouldn't hate going to the dentist each year. You can't go wrong with Dr. Dallman. One thing I will say is that he is very good at making the parents feel responsible for their kids oral hygine and makes you want to help your kids practice good oral hygine or it may look bad on you. more

Best pediatric dentist 11/4/2010

My daughter has been seeing Dr Dallman for 10 years. The care is top notch and my daughter has zero anxiety about seeing the dentist- as another reviewer said, she looks forward to it. Dr Dallman is so gentle and I have always thought him very caring. All experiences with the practice have been excellent. more

Office Receptionist 11/1/2010

Difficult to make appointments that work with schedule. No office hours Thursday afternoon or on Friday. Receptionist not very polite, understanding or accomadating to schedule changes like their orthodonist counterpart next door. more

Highly Recommend 9/24/2009

My daughter was frightened of the dentist until she met the staff at Jon A. Dallman's office. We tried and failed at many offices prior to finding Dr. Dallman. Not only is my daughter nolonger frightened but she actually is excited to go to her check up appointments. Now, my three children all visit the caring staff there. I have recommended Dallman to my friend whose child was terrified, at best, of the dentist and he too, at three years old is no longer fighted of the dental experience. They really do have something special at their office and the children love Dr. Dallman and his staff, every one of them. more

Great 8/31/2009

When I was about 12-13 yrs old Dr. Dallman became my dentist until I was 17 yrs old. I did enjoy having him as my dentist from that age. Because of him when I was in 9th grade i did a report on him and wanted to become a dental assistant. I still do and hope that if i do i can work with kids. he knows how to respect the children even when they may be scared to go to the dentist foe the first time. Chrystal more

Service has gone down hill 3/13/2009

Since moving into his new digs, Dr. Dallman has had huge turn over in dental tech staff and the current group is young and inexperienced. They pushed my 4 year old to have x-rays even though it hurt his mouth and he was crying for them to stop. They didn't stop, didn't come get either me or my husband. They don't let you go into the treatment area with your kids until all the procedures are complete. In addition, they wrongly diagnosed my other child who has special needs with a cavity that "had" to be repaired right away. Upon second opinion, there was no cavity to repair. The 5-star resort style waiting area for parents is certainly nice, but doesn't make up for the lack of service. more

My kids ask to go to the dentist! 9/5/2008

We have been going to Dr. Dallman for 9 years. My kids love going to the dentist and actually ask when they can go back! They just moved into a beautiful new office with a beautiful view that provides a nice atmosphere. The kids think that the whole experience is great...they have even had teeth pulled and don't complain! The staff is very nice and efficient. more

ADHD kid's mom 7/25/2007

The staff are wonderful and experienced with my special needs ADHD kid. Very patient and they show compassion. Dr Dallman is very knowledgable and professional. My kid feels safe and unfrightened when going to the dentist. She really likes the prizes after the visit, although there are too many choices! I'd recommend him and do! more
