Plain ol good Italian food 3/19/2007

My boyfriend took me to Zio's while I was visiting Springfield. It was in a great location and a great building, but we had to wait, even though it was just the two of us on a Sunday night. The staff was friendly though and went around offering pizza samples to those who were waiting which I thought was a nice touch. And the pizza was really good. The menu was typical; similar to a Macaroni Grill or Johnny Carino's. They had daily dinner specials during the week - I had cheese ravioli and a side salad for $7, which is cheaper than some places. The dessert menu looked awesome, but I was too full from my dinner to try any. Overall, I was impressed. more

One of my fave restaurants in springfield 2/13/2007

Zio's is great. It is REALLY cheap for italian food in my opinion. Italian food is my fave so I'm picky but they lived up to my expectations. You don't get the same atmosphere as some of the mom and pop owned italian restaurants but I still enjoy the Tuscany type feel. more

Good food, but usually a wait 4/9/2006

This restaurant is typical of Macaroni Grill, in that it is open and you can see the kitchen from most of the tables. They have a good menu selection, and the prices are a little steep. The food is good here, but it really is not the best that you can find as far as Italian food goes. It does get very noisy too if the place is really crowded, which can be irritating if you have a large group and you are trying to talk to each other. more

Good Italian Food 3/28/2006

Zios has a wonderful selection of Italian food. The staff are very nice. The atmosphere was nice, but very noisy. We came in the evening. The only bad thing was the wait. We waited on our food for nearly an hour. Our children were with us, so that made it a little frustrating. The food was tasty, but I'm don't think it was worth that kind of wait. more
