Egg free specials just for us :) 8/23/2010

This restaurant is one of our favorites, because we see the same nice servers regularly, it's very kid friendly, and let's face it, it's one of the few good places on the plateau. We used to call it ""Bulgogi"", because that's what we would always order. Now we also order their special ""Pineapple Fried Rice"", which is absolutely packed with yummy ingredients, like ham, pineapple, peas, carrots, onions. We have a little boy who's allergic to egg, so they make it special for us without the egg, and there's still so much stuff in it, that we all love it. They serve their meals with a salad, always crispy and very fresh and choice of soup. We really like their chicken and rice soup, which is very satisfying and nutritious. Of course, my other boy loves their gyozas, but those have egg in them, so the little guy can't have any, but luckily he's happily occupied with what he CAN eat. more

theres so much more to it than you'd think 9/1/2008

I have been going to this resturant now for a few years and cannot help but write this review because what raymacdonalds states isn't correct, and thought that it would not be fair to the resturant or its owner. I was at yoko's when the fly incident took place. I was at the table next to the asian lady, not ray, because he was sitting across and behind her. The asian lady which had the problem with a fly in her dish was rude to the staff before any incident took place. she was litteraly ordering the staff around as if she'd owned them. Secondly the fly landed on the dipping sauce because her child said, ""oh a fly landed"" When she first complained of this, she asked for her waiter, not the owner, at which point waiter took a moment and went to get his boss. the owner unlike suggested by raymacdonald apologized to the lady and said that the meals were on the house. At which point the lady said ""what ever!"" and didnt even look at him. which was unfortunately the same type of attitude she had since she came in. Thirdly, where is this stereotype you speak of?? I didnt hear anything comming out of the owners mouth, but the lady said something about koreans, at which point the owner gave her a complete refund and told her to not come in to the resturant any more. later, after ray left, I overheard the conversation about the lady between the waiter and the owner. The owner said "" I offered to pay for the meal, but she's just so rude!"" and Finally, I wasn't particulary fond of how the owner of the establishement took care of the situation, but I can understand the frustration of working in a resturant \r ( haven't we all done work like this at somepoint in our lives?) I hope raymacdonalds review doesnt keep people away from this place, because its good food at reasonable prices, and the service here is actually excellent. Pros: good food, reasonable prices Cons: rush hour more

dirty food, worst service ever, very bad manner, sterotype some group of people 8/27/2008

It's the first time I went to lunch with my wife and kids in this restaurant today. An Asian lady with a kid seated next to us. They found a fly in thier food and the lady called the waiter. A korean man(the owner) came and spoke in very low voice with that lady. Then the lady went to the counter and paid the bill. While the lady on her way out, I heard a conversation between the lady and another female customer:\r Female customer: "" A fly was in your food and you still need to pay for them!!!""\r Lady: "" Yeh, they just deduct the money for that plate with fly.""\r Female customer: "" No way! How can they do that? They should give you free for the whole meal!""\r \r The lady sighed and stepped out the restaurant.\r \r Suddenly, the owner came out with very lousy and angry vioce to that lady: "" Take your money and don't come back to my restaurant again!!!""\r \r We all shocked! This is the worst service we've ever seen! Poor lady!\r more

Best Teryiaki on the Eastside 6/13/2008

The best teriyaki on the Eastside. Great, fast service with a menu filled with lots of choices...especially for the kids. I've been going there for years and still consider it the best choice on a Friday night instead of pizza. Pros: Menu more

Really tasty food, friendly service 1/26/2008

This place has does a really nice job of serving up tasty food at a very reasonable price. Steve and his crew are friendly, and always open to adding special items to serve their loyal customers. Case in point: Try the ""Gary Special"", added to the menu recently for a hungry fireman, frequent diner of Yoko. They get busy around dinner time with lots of takeout orders, so just be very specific as to when you want to pick up your food, or come in early if you want to dine in. They take particularly good care of kids, and are flexible to accommodate larger parties. I highly recommend Yoko for families and anyone looking for a good Teriyaki meal on the Plateau. Pros: Tastes, variety, friendly staff, on-site owner Cons: Popularity at dinner time more

Awful Food & Service 11/21/2006

I ordered take out from this place. Opened my meal at home and discovered they had fogotton the teriyaki chicken main course. I called and request a credit against my credit card. They were too busy to take care of it. \r \r Avoid this place. There are other options in the immediate vicinity which offer better food and definitely better service. Pros: Convienent for Klahanie families Cons: Inept kitchen; lousy gyoza more
