We needed to buy a new washer and dryer for our new house. Tried Sears, Home Depot, Lowes and couldn't get knowledgable sales staff. Given the semi trained sales personnel, I wasn't too sanguine about installation, either. Our builder (generally a cheapskate) had used Yale for the other major appliances, so we stopped in. Great sales service -- knowledgable, not pushy, wanted to figure out what we needed. Because of the house configuration, there were problems with installation, but the crew were pros and figured out a great workaround. Later, when we had problems with our stove, they provided quick, efficient and effective service. We,ve since used them for lighting, towel racks, all sorts of things. Great quality, professional staff, well-managed organization. Don't forget to sign up for their monthly email -- it's actually useful. more

Every appliance in my home has been purchased from Yale. I started with a washer and dryer last summer. With knowledgable help from the salesman to the delivery planning and delivery, Yale has been top notch in all areas compared to the other stores I have delt with. Pricing with several different types of rebates and just lower in comparison to everyone else has made me not have to look for or wait for the other "deals" the other stores are advertising. I'll never get another appliance from anyone else. more

I had never been to Yale before but went there to look for pendant lighting for a kitchen project. Having been an interior designer, I was very impressed that the woman who waited on me was actually a lighting designer. She took the time to actually draw me an elevation on my kitchen space and layout the fixtures that I was considering. This was a service that I never expected and was very informative. I would have given them 5 stars but the fixtures that I chose were not in stock and had to be ordered. I drove the distance there hoping that I could find something that was in stock that I could take home and try. more

Good: We had a terrific experience with Yale when we renovated our kitchen. Prior to construction, we pre-ordered our Sub Zero fridge, Wolfe ovens & warming drawer, Diva induction cooktop, Sharp microwave and Asko dishwasher. Also, a new washer and dryer and kitchen faucets. We took immediate delivery on the washer & dryer, which served as the deposit for the entire order. When we finally took delivery of everything else over a year later, all of the original pricing was honored, saving us a ton of money!!!. Bad: We can't stand our Asko dishwasher. It has been a lemon from the very beginning. Serviced several times and still it is a complete dud. However, also puchaced the extended warrantee, so all of the service was covered AND we are getting a new Miele free of charge to replace the faulty Asko dishwasher.. Improvements: In the beginning, we could call the service department and have over-the-phone consultation with a technician. Often, I was able to diagnose a problem (or learn a better way to operate the appliance) saving the time of waiting for a technician to come out to the house. I wish Yale would bring back phone support because it is sometimes to juggle service appointments and a job.. Other: Even without phone support, the customer service at Yale TOP NOTCH. Everyone is so professional, friendly and knowledgable. The service department is EXTREMELY well managed. I like knowing I can count on them to keep my appliances running like new.. more

Bought a $49 dishwasher at the Cash For Clunkers event, and it was delivered installed and removed by Yales guys for $139 They scheduled a 2 hour window and called me on my cell 15 minutes before and waited for me becuase of traffic They were respectful, neat and efficient more

Honest and Likeable 1/8/2010

My Father started with Yale 40 years ago...I have owned a construction company(Proforma Construction) since 1995 and have always used them. Salespeople are always helpful, and not in a "You have to buy the most expensive product type of way." They sell based on need The deliveries are always prompt. In fact I cannot a delivery that was not on time...and yes they handle issues professionally. They have always been more than fair, with good selection and customer service....Highly recommended more

I help to manage Yale in Dorchester. I oversee 75 home deliveries and over 110 service calls. Thats every day. My only direction is to be reasonable with customers. I have sent electricians, rewired rooms, sent carpenters and fixed cabinets in the interest of customer satisfaction...even when it was not clear to me that we erred. Some of these reviews genuinely baffle me. We dont outsource service as it is the largest part of our business. I honestly believe we are the best in this industry. Yale really is the best place for all of your appliance and lighting needs. Despite what others, who know very little about the appliance industry, have suggested in their reviews, the customer service at Yale is certainly better than what you can expect to receive at say Best Buy or Home Depot. Yale cares about their clients and truly aims to make them returning clients in the future. Ask anyone who works at Yale, almost half of their clients have bought at Yale before and have families who have bought at Yale before. I suggest you take a look around their stunning showroom, talk to one of their friendly salespeople and make a decision for yourself. You won't regret it. more

There is an Advantage 3/8/2009

I have worked at Yale for 4 years, and I feel compelled to respond to Janet L. We are not allowed to refer or outsource delivery, installation or service. Most manufacturers like Whirlpool, Frigidaire and Bosch do not even offer service of any type. Over half the people at Yale work in after sale service or product support. In fact we have more service technicians than salespeople, (and will complete over 20,000 service calls...more than any other service company except for Sears). Is the info on the brackets relevant? more

More expensive and No advanatage over big box stores 2/24/2009

There is no advanatage to shopping at Yale. They are more expensive and certainly have no better customer service than Lowe's or Home Depot. Any problems and they simply refer you to the manufacturer. more

I read all the reviews on Yelp, AngiesList and Judys Book. Good reviews are great, but bad reviews have helped us become a better company and more responsive to our clients. Terrible customer service 9/25/2007

The water pump on my brand new dishwasher started leaking. I called Yale on a Monday and I was told that a Service Tech would call me back. Two days later and no call from Yale, so I called them. I was told that a Service Tech would call me back. The next Monday came and still no call, so I called then yet again. Finally I spoke with a “Service Tech”. He said that they would order a new part but it would take over 6 days for it to come in. 7 days later I called Yale and the part was not in yet. I’m going on 3 weeks and my dishwasher is still not fixed. No one at Yale ever calls me with an update, I always have to call them. When I was considering buying my appliances Yale would call twice a day but yet when I have to get them fixed I have to chase them down. more

I have always purchased my appliances from Yale Electric and found them excellent in pricing, manner, and follow-through. About 5 yrs. ago I purchased a top of the line - glass stop - electric stove. I did not use the oven for quite awhile - old micro. When I finally did I had guests sitting at the table - it was almost a year since I had purchased it - and the oven just fizzed out. I called GE (I had an extended warranty on Yale suggestion). GE would do nothing - Yale Electric had just taken over GE's Warranties and they promptly came out and replaced the mechanism of the stove and it's been perfect ever since. I have such faith in them that I ordered my Washer & Dryer plus air conditioner over the phone from Steve and was very satisfied with what he sent and the prices, too.
