GREAT DOCTOR & GREAT OFFICE 1/3/2012

I have been going to Dr. Katopes for over 20 years. I was surprised to read the posting from the guy who was asking if he is a real Doctor. Obviously, he did not do his homework. It was very easy to find out on the internet that he is not only Board Certified but a Diplomat with the American Academy of Family Practice which is the highest appointment available. He is in good standing with the Georgia State Board of Medicine as well. These credentials are not bought nor manufactured. They were earned. As a professional, I understand the time and dedication that Dr. Katopes put forth to obtain these. I trust Dr. Katopes with my healthcare and that of my family. I respect him for the large portion of his life that he has dedicated to medicine. I pray that with the hard times our country is facing in regards to healthcare, that more upcoming medical students will not be discouraged and turn away from medicine. This has already created a shortage. I encourage each person who reads this to take the time to support your Doctor. Post the GOOD outcomes and the positives. It is time we start rallying behind our medical community and all Professions who contribute to make our country the place so many want to live. And if you do feel the need to trash someone, at least educate yourself prior to doing so. more

Patients don't matter 3/22/2010

Usually we can get in and get the help when we need it. My last visit on 3/11/2010 was the worst ever. The nurse practioner I saw made me feel like a Dr. shopping drug addict when I'm the furthest thing from it. She did not know me or even have my chart, then prescribed medication that can be harmful to me. At the time I had a bad migraine and wanted a refill on some pain medication for just when I had a full migraine she refused saying it was addictive, after telling her I didn't want to take meds daily she prescibed medicine to take twice daily. When I asked about the down side of this medicine she said about like Hydrocodone. This medicine caused me problems with moods and could cause me internal problems . When I called the office they said the office manager would call me and I haven't heard fromher yet. I can only assume they no longer want me for a patient, maybe because I don,t have insurance. This makes me sad because Dr. Katopes has been my main Dr.since 2000. Pros: In 10 years I'beenable to get in when needed Cons: long waits and indifference more

Worst Front Office 1/4/2010

have been a patient here for many years but I think I have had enough. In the pastyear I have been routinely double billed for co pay even after showing them credit card transactions that I already paid and still get demand letters from them and even SOMEONE else's bill folded into mine once! additionally have shown up on scheduled times three times only to be told that it was a different day even when I show them the appt card they wrote or a voice recording from a vmail confirming the appt. Last straw for me was when I asked them 2 weeks ago to refill perscrips after seeing the Dr 4 weeks before and they failed to do. They then required that I set up another appt which they rescheduled twice before assigning me a time I told them I would probably be running late for, they ok'd then office mgr went on vacation. I showed up on Tues as sched to do this and even called ahead to tell them I was running 15-20 min late. Get there 20 min late and even though only 2 people in waiting room at 6pm, one had appt for 5:15, other at 5:30pm. They had not been seen and after waiting 15 min a nurse came out pulled me aside and told me that due to being 15 min late the office policy is then NOT to see me. I then had to show up next day for appt at 8, I arrive at 7:50am find out I have to wait an hour in an exam room since Dr has NOT SHOWN UP YET until after 9 am! Asked if I could even go to McD IN FRONT of them to get breakfast and told then if I did others would fill in my spot, as of 9:25 am still waiting here. more

Long Wait, Best doctor I've ever seen! 7/8/2009

Dr. Nicole Rivera is by far the nicest, most helpful and geniune doctor I have ever had the pleasure of visiting! I have seen many doctors over the past few years and she is by far the best. Even though the wait time is horrible I go to this clinic anyways just to see her! I would recommend her to anyone and seeing such a wonderful doctor is worth the wait for me! If she had not been at this clinic I would have given it maybe one or two stars. Pros: Best, most caring Dr I've ever seen Cons: Long wait, unfriendly staff for the most part more

Offers Services and Wonderful hours. 1/14/2009

I really love this office. It is convenient and has the hours that can accomodate a busy schedule. Nights and weekends. I have never had a time that I was not able to get in especially for what I considered an emergency. The staff is friendly and personable and the wait was not too bad. I was a walk-in so I expected to wait a little while ( I was not dissapointed!) I would highly recommend this office to family and friends. In fact, I already do! Oh, it offers a lot of other services that kept me from having to go to the ER (xray) and my HR rep at my office said that it saved me a lot of money and I guess my insurance company as well. Pros: Wonderful hours and a lot of services under one roof Cons: Wait time can be a little long because of walk-ins more

Not very patient friendly 8/4/2008

My experience in this office over the last few years has never been a good one. The first couple times I went to the office I found that I seemed to know more about some of my conditions than the nurses. One nurse specifically had no knowledge whatsoever of the oral candidiasis that I was seeking consult for. She never even heard the term thrush. Secondly, following that same visit I was to receive a phone call back in 10 days for test results. 15 days went by without a return call for the results. When I called the office back to see if the results were in it took the man who answered the phone 20 minutes to find the answer to my question. When I was nursing my second child the doctor there (cant remember which one) prescribed a muscle relaxer that was contraindicated to nursing mothers. Luckily I thought to double check with the pharmacist before filling the Rx. more

Always available appointment. Waiting room time is an eternity. Staff is friendly and the office is local so they are always my first choice. They will also work with you in terms of payment. more
