One Stop Shopping for your Music Needs 3/13/2006

I was quite impressed walking into Watermelon Music in the college town of Davis, Ca. The store is large, well lit with an abundance of helpful staff. Musical instruments of every kind grace the walls and the inventory is huge!\r \r As soon as I walked into the door, Ron, immediately greeted me and after purchasing a portable CD guitar trainer and a few accessories I walked out quite happy. \r \r In comparing prices on the internet they are quite competitive but the knowledge of the employees in regard to their products is what really helped me decide what would best suit my needs. Terrible Workers 11/29/2005

The Watermelon Music store really needs to find some new workers. I've always heard that they have great service because they don't work on commission, but when I was trying to get some help with an instrument, I got yelled and bitched at. This totally turned me away from buying anything. The prices are just about the same as other places, but most other music stores treat their customers with better respect than this I'm sure. more

Watermelon music is a wonderful store devoted to making the customer feel at ease while going through the difficult task of finding just the right instrument. They have the instruments lying around so that you can test, but they ask that you be careful with the instruments or they can get testy. Quite understandable if you think about it. The prices are really competitive to other stores, which was surprising too. more

Great Music store in Davis 9/25/2005

Watermelon Music is nestled in the heart of downtown Davis. This store boasts a large inventory of about every musical instrument you could dream of playing. There are a bunch of guitars (acoustic and electric) with amps ready to be tried out. People are free to come in and play any instrument. When I was there, there was a bias toward right hand guitars. There were no left handed acoustic guitars in stock. Otherwise, it is a very nice music store for all wishful musicians. PROS: location, selection CONS: lefthanded prejudice more

everything for music making 8/18/2005

This full service music store has everything you are looking for, from a drum set, to instruments, to sheet music and all the accessories, you can even take lessons in the soundproofed rooms in the rear of the store. The staff will help you find whatever you need, and are happy to let you try out that new guitar thats hanging on the wall. Another longterm Davis buisness. more

ok place 6/6/2005

Well its the only music store in Davis, so if you need any music equipment in Davis would the place to go. Ive seen better prices elsewhere however. They do have a extensive collection of acoustic instruments, percussion and string. They also have some electric guitars and pedals. I never get anything there except accessories. more
