I have been going here for close to 20 years. It's way better than an emergency room or scheduling with a PCP. They are reluctant to give out morphine derivatives, which is fine with me, I am reluctant to take them. If you prefer a long drive and a longer wait for service, go to Kent or Rhode Island Hospital. They are not afraid to hand out scrips for pain meds or stick you with Dilautid. (sp?)\r ER care stinks, they are so overloaded that this is inevitable. The most time I have waited at Kent was 2 1/2 hours, at RI Hospital 3 1/2 hours (although I walked away from a 5 1/2 hour reported wait by the duty nurse), and the most I ever waited at the Doc in a Box was about an hour, during a flu outbreak and a couple broken bones in front of me. Heck, I waited 3 hours for an X-ray for my son at RIH!\r Knock them all you want, but compared to similar patient-physician loads in other facilities, these guys rock. Follow-up on the phone is effortless. If you need the warm fuzzy feeling you get from your PCP, then only get sick during business hours. Barring that, these guys are great and are all I ever use. more

Service started out ok. Staff was Average, Dr. Chen was very aggressive toward a VERY apparent Chipped/Broken foot. This Doctor kept tapping the wounded area saying "" Does This hurt does that hurt!!!! "" DUH Felt like saying to him......... Can i take my finger and jab into your EYE and asking, Does That hurt! I will never go to this Facility again. No Advice on what to do. He asked if i need to see a foot specialist and i said what do you think? His response was I DONT KNOW. Really!!!!!!! Dude your the So called Doctor!!!! Oh and get this!!!...... He gave me an anti inflammatory for a broken bone!!! So i go to the Pharmacist and the Pharmacist Highly recommends not to take this Med. and on the Pharmacist professional opinion he would highly recommend not to take this Med. more

do not go here 12/30/2011

whatever you do do not go here.... it is dirty cold and extremely unfriendly. receptionist is rude and loud and had a personal conversation in front of me. there are major problems here including patients privacy. once i get called into a room i get lied to, a medical assistant claiming to be a nurse.... major issue. doctor james denier was very nice i had to ask him his name do to the fact the lying medical assistant didnt introduce him to me. I then needed an xray i waited only a short matter of time, i am a skier so i am used to getting xrayed... she didnt instruct he to undress which i found odd seeing i had on jeans a belt and buttoned shirt and the xrays where of my back!!! and she didnt offer me a lead shield which i have always been given in the past. more

AWEFUL!!! 2/9/2011

On Tuesday February 08, 2011 I took myself to the Warwick Medical Walk-in. I had injured myself the week prior shoveling snow & ice. I was in excruciating pain in the area of my left shoulder blade. The pain had been bad for over 48 hours and I was concerned there was a greater problem so I decided to see a doctor & hopefully get an x-ray, I was also concerned because I am prone to Pneumonia and Bronchitis and was having sharp pains in my back when taking deep breaths. I waited in the waiting area for a brief amount of time, maybe 45 minutes or so. I sat in the waiting area watching the local weather report, reading an article in Rhode Island Monthly & playing Yahtzee on my cell phone. Once I was called into the treatment area in the back of the office my vitals were taken and the medical assistant left the room. Immediately following Dr James Denier entered the room & asked me who I was speaking to in the waiting area, I came alone so I responded no one. The doctor then went on to tell me that another patient in the waiting area had heard ME having a conversation on my cell phone, to the effect that I was at the facility with the sole intention of getting medication to sell at $5 a piece. I was totally shocked at this accusation & handed the doctor my cell phone, which I had failed to pay the bill on & currently does not have ANY service. No calls, no texting (which can be verified with T-Moble), you can play the games, use the camera, MP3 player, even go on-line if you're in a WI-fi area..but no incoming/outgoing calls or texts. I showed the doctor the phone did not work by repeatedly trying to make a call in front of him. He said why would someone make up this story about you. I stated the person should have to come point me out, there must be a misunderstanding or I was confused for a different patient. I asked if they had a surveillance camera in the waiting area they could watch to see if I had at any point used a cellphone, he stated they had no cameras. He then told me he would not treat me, or give me an x-ray. He said I most likely had a muscle injury & seemed to be moving my arm just fine, he gave me a prescription for Ibuprofen 800mg and asked me to leave. When I further questioned him and asked him why he wouldn?t give me an x-ray the doctor told me he could have me arrested on the accusers testimony alone. I then went to the receptionist in the front of the building & made her call the Warwick police department so I could get some form of proof of my complaint. Officer Kenneth of the Warwick police station arrived shortly, the call report# is. He checked my cell phone and also saw there was no service, he spoke to the doctor & the doctor could not produce the person accusing me of the ""so called"" phone conversation in the waiting area. Stating that the patient had already left. I was advised that the facility wanted a no trespassing order put against me & not to return, as if I would ever want to, he also stated I could contact the Attorney Generals Office to complain about my treatment. Upon leaving I went home & made an appointment with my primary care doctor's office. I was treated at 2:30pm by my primary care and I was referred to the Imaging Institute in Warwick for an X-ray that evening. This is my complaint, I was treated horribly by Dr. James M. Denier , he did not give me adequate treatment, he was negligent & unprofessional. Never mind I was humiliated beyond belief. more
