I had a few issues with my minivan and knew I had been putting of repairs that I needed, so I finally decided to take the plunge and go in for a tune up. The owner was there and was really helpful. He told me he would take a look and get back to me. He called back in a few hours and said things weren't as bad as I had thought and that the repairs would only cost a few hundred dollars. I was amazed. This is a great shop I would recommend to anyone. more

VJ's has taken care of my every automotive service & repair need for years. From tires to oil changes, to fixing previously botched repairs by other mechanics...they always take care of me like family. VJ and his staff are friendly, reliable, and are not out to take advantage of anyone. They are the most honest auto service shop I've ever come across and I have no intention of ever taking any car/truck to anyone but them. They are THAT good at what they do! Every friend I've recommended get their car repaired by VJ's has raved about how great they are. I have been using VJ's exclusively for nearly 10 years. I have seen him grow from a very small bay at a local gas station to about 8 bays. You can tell a good mechanic by how busy he is., While VJ and his staff are busy, they will find time to work you in and get you back on the road as soon as possible. VJ has always dealt very fairly with me (being a single woman, that means alot, when most try to take advantage of the unsuspecting). IMy 1998 Avalon is cared for by VJ and his staff and I trust their expertise in maintaining and servicing my car. VJ and Dane work very hard to run a positive and forthright business. Overall a good expereince. Guys at this place clearly know what they are talking about. Brought my car to the dealer a few months ago for a problem, supposedly they fixed it. Then my car broke down, VJ's was the closest shop so I got towed there by AAA. These guys were able to CORRECTLY diagnose my car and actualy fix it without breaking my bank. Everyone was nice and I got lots of updates while the car was being diagnosed and repaired. Would definitely bring my car back. Pros: Great waiting room with internet Cons: If I find any I will post it in the future. more

I'd read reviews from random sites and decided to go with the highly-rated VJ's Auto Service. To pass time (and fill my empty stomach) while they diagnosed my rather loud brake problem, I took about a 1/3 mile walk to get a hamburger and left them my cell phone number. About 20 minutes later, one of the guys came down (he knew where I'd be) to let me know what my car needed. (My stupid cell wasn't working.) How nice was that?! All the employees I encountered were very friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain what was happening and answering all my questions. When I was about to back up to leave, someone noticed one of my brake lights out, so they replaced it right then and there for nothing! It might seem insignificant in terms of cost, but they certainly didn't have to do that and doing so proved just one more step toward making me a solid, dedicated customer. Besides great service and competitive pricing, It's the little things like all I mentioned above that create repeat customers and encourage them to spread the word, which is what I'm doing. I've since gone back a number of times and have been treated professionally and kindly by all staff members making this my go-to place for all future auto service. more

These guys are really cool. They tell you your options and make sure you understand the repairs. I don't like going to dealerships for repairs and it's hard to find a good mechanic. I'm really happy AAA towed me here three years ago. Haven't been anywhere else since. They'll even give you the broken parts.. if you want them that is. more

This is the type of business that makes you want to come back. No one wants to pay to fix their cars, But all cars break and when they do you want to have the work done by a shop that you feel confident that the work was done right. Vj's is that shop. Vj and the Crew Explain things in a concise and easy way, that even my daughter understands the problem and the solutions. I am a Car Crazy guy and they can give details of the problem and how they fixed it I know that the job was done right! I would recommend this place of business to any one. I've been taking my VW Passat to VJ's and his crew for over two years now and feel I have made new friends! These guys are so friendly and helpful. They take time to explain the problem and tell you what needs to happen to fix it. Dane just doesn't just call up the dealer if your car needs a new part, he'll call all all around to find the best price possible. They get the work done in a timely manner and even give rides to and from the shop. Vj is a great guy and I will recommend his repair facility to any one. more

I took my 1995 Ford Mustang to VJ's and told them that I just wanted a basic tune-up (plugs, oil filter, oil). I did not ask how much it would be (my first mistake), I figured no more than $60 or $70. I received a call from VJ's about two hours later and they told me that it was going to be at least $700 to do the work. They gave me a big o list of things that they recommend should get replaced. They told me that my battery was no good, that I needed both motor mounts replaced, that my cap, rotor and wires needed to be replaced etc... I told them that I just wanted a simple oil change and plugs. They still charged me $200 for a job that I could have had some other shop do it for $60. The only reason that I took it to VJ's is because it is close to my job. When I picked up my car later that same day, my car was shaking and would even turn off on me at a stop sign. I took it back the next day to VJ's and told them what was happenning. They told me that that's the way I took them the car. I left it with them for the day and picked it up on my way home. My car still ran like Sh*t! I took my car to my friends dad in East LA which works out of his back yard. I asked him to fix my car and to check if I needed any of the items which VJ's said that I did. I got my car back from him the next day and it ran like a champ. He said that I did not need anything that VJ's was trying to re-place and that the spark plugs were not gapped properly and that was causing it to shake and turn off. I do not recommend VJ's to anyone! My worst experinece at an auto repair shop in my life! Pros: Close to my job. Cons: I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me. more

I've spent over $2000 in two visits at this shop with a month wait per visit to get my car back. My car is a 50's Chevy which I told them about and asked if they could do the work which they agreed. I did not get any major work done on the car, but it still took months to get it back and I recevied it with an alignment problem which was not there before. The day after I got my car back one of the wheels on the driver side fell off while I was driving. This damaged my fender, ruined my white wall tire, steel rim and front hub on the drum and I had to get the car towed. I then had to tow the car back to the shop and have been waiting 2 months now and have not got my car back. Initally the people were nice and seemed OK to deal with, but now my calls are not returned and I don't have updates on the status of my car. Im very frustrated. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. Pros: Down the street from my office Cons: my car has been there a total of 4 months in the last 6 months. more
