Deborah Van Cleve Phelps, the store owner, KNOWINGLY married her 3rd husband on the 3rd anniversary of his deceased wife's funeral. How disrespectful to the family and the mother of his children! Deborah is selfish and loves attention. I would not buy any wedding apparel from someone who is so insensitive. The customer services awful, and they treat customers differently based on what they look like or how much money they think they have. Shop elsewhere!!! more

I had made an appointment to look at bridal gowns. I arrived on time with my mother. We were casually, but nicely dressed. more

I purchased a mother of the bride dress there. When I went back to pick the dress up, I tried it on to check out the length to see if alterations were needed. The owner told me that no one was available to alter the length and that it looked fine as is; she seemed like she was trying to rush me out of the store. Additionally, there were wrinkles in the dress that needed to be steamed out before I could wear it. When a saleswoman was helping to steam the dress for me, the owner, in front of me, angrily ordered the saleswoman to leave me and go assist her with another client trying on dresses. The saleswoman was embarrased and apologized to me, but left to go to the other person. I left with the dress, and had to take it to a local seamstress to get the dress shortened and steamed out. I found my dream bridal shop! Not only are the bridal gowns fantastic, but I can put my own gown together by choosing the parts I like and the designer can draw my very own dream bridal gown. Even my bridesmaids are happy because they can be designed to look best on them as well. For what I would spend on a beautiful gown, it can be a design especially for me. Thank you Van Cleve's! I went into the Van Cleve Collection with my daughter looking for a Mother of the Bride dress for my son's wedding very close to the wedding date. I was very nervous because of the timing but they put me to ease. There was a great selection of dresses and the sales women were very helpful in pointing me in the right direction! more

Sales girls were very kind and extremely helpful!! I went in completly blank not knowing what I wanted and came out with my entire bridal party (mother included) dressed from head to toe! Do not order any dress from this shop. Overpriced and dishonest service. I ordered a bridesmaid dress from Van Cleve back in March. I usually take a size 8 but know that when it comes to these types of dresses a 10 is a perfect fit. So when I went in to get measured, I specifically requested a size 10. When the dress arrived I was surprised to find that the dress had been ordered in a size 14. Instead of admitting a mistake had been made and offering to do the alterations for free (which any good business would do), the sales consultant proceeded to try to blame me and the designer (Vera Wang) for the mistake. All they care about is money and they were looking to make some off of me with the extensive alterations that had to be made to the dress. The issue was never resolved as all employees and the owner began ignoring my phone calls and would never call me back. Not the ideal customer service. I will never shop here again and I will advise friends, family and strangers to stay away at all cost. Dishonest and greedy. Cons: Dishonest and unethical more
