A little OVERPRICED for average food. Bad wait-staff. 12/10/2009

The food are expensive switching from lunch to dinner by a two dollar difference for the pretty much the same quantity dish. The tom yum/ kha soup are NOT served with rice. Horrible peppermint candy wasted away. DO NOT GET THE STEAK entree, it is nothing more than a slab of steak and some rice propped up in a triangular cone. Horrible coffee but a very good selection of tea to choose from. Mochi ice cream is OVERPRICED, they're the same ones at the local asian market. The level four thai hot is not even hot at all. I had a buddy get a piece of mango in his water. Disappointingly, they ran out of cups one friday night too, so we were waterless for a while. The waitstaff is not a great as the ones prior. There used to be a host of great waiters/waitresses. One of my faves quit due to the prejudices so it really got me thinking... Overall the food is okay, I love the pad thai and sushi, but save your money and go else where, it's just not the bang for the buck for your stomachs. Elegant table settings and big plate sizes DO NOT dictate a good taste, so don't let them fool you with that. Overall, the food is average. It is just as much thai as chipotle is to mexican. Pros: Average food. Sushi available. Cons: Expensive. more

Food made me sick. 5/18/2009

I ate the salmon nigiri here, and the california roll with salmon. I was sicker than I have ever been in my life after eating here (this program won't let me say the actual terms for what it means when you eat food and it makes you very very sick for 24-48 hours). I went over everything I ate that day, and the salmon is the only thing I had that was different from what other people ate. A friend gets sushi here often, so I am sure this doesn't happen every time. It didn't work out for me though. The lady on the phone was very polite when I called to inform them of the incident however. Sometimes you just need to hear a simple, genuine ""I'm sorry"". I won't be pressing charges or anything, but this was a very unpleasant experience for me. Pros: Polite people on phone Cons: More sick that I have been in my life more

Could eat here every night 7/14/2007

I was at a conference at the Westin across the street from the Westminster Promenade. We stumbled on this place for dinner the first night. We started with steamed dumplings, and then I had the chicken basil and my friend had the purple eggplant! Mine was ok, my friends was phenomenal! Definitely a must eat! Super duper yummy! For desert we went with the banana spring rolls ? such a fun way to end a meal! The second night we returned with my husband and started with the curry filled philo dough. I didn?t like those, but hubby and friend did! We tried the fried tofu and veggies and when the waitress remembered us let us get a side of the fried eggplant from the night before! Hubby had the pad thai and that was very tasty, nice kick at the hot level! Definitely a lot of annoying teenagers visit after dark, but a great place, and a great meal! Pros: Fabulous food, great service, lots of choices Cons: Teenagers in the area at night more

Try this Thai! 3/14/2003

I have dined at Tuk Tuk Thai Bistro several times and have never had a bad meal there. It's not the most authentic Thai restaraunt I have ever eaten at, but it has a few classics as well as some tasty twists on traditional dishes. The location leaves a little bit to be desired due to the amount of teenagers who like to ""hang around"" Westminster Promenade on the weekends, but otherwise the restaraunt itself is nicely appointed. Pros: Consistant Quality, Very Affordable, Never Crowded Cons: Location more

Great Meal 8/27/2002

The whole meal was great. You can bring your spouse there because it is a very romantic place to go to or just bring a group of friends to eat and have fun. Also to my surprise they had a kids menu for the children to pick from. Everything was just great. more
