Take advantage of this service - you paid for it 3/17/2006

The Tucson-Pima public library system is an excellent service. The selection at each branch is limited, but online searching, reservations, and e-mail alerts mean you can get pretty much any item on the shelves somewhere in Tucson as long as you are willing to wait. Infant and toddler story times are fun times to teach your youngsters the joy of reading and interacting with others their own ages. Keep in mind it is funded in part through your property taxes so consider it partly yours. more

Wonderful 8/21/2005

The Tucson-Pima Public Branch Library is a whole bunch of local libraries located throughout Tucson. Nanini Library is the library that is closest to us. Every Wednesday, they have toddler story time where a librarian will come and sing, dance, and tell stories. My toddler loves it. They have a great selection of books, tapes, and DVD's. more

Wilmot Branch and the computer system.... 7/19/2005

I must say, I have been impressed by the Tucson library system as of late. I use the Wilmot Branch on N. Wilmot, just north of Broadway Blvd. It is an older branch, but has been kept up nicely. They just recently installed two self-check out kiosks. A very nice addition. (Only problem with this system is IF you check out a DVD you still must have an employee remove the security device from it. You cannot do this w/the self check out.) The people who work at this branch are really nice and helpful. Especially after they get to know you a bit. (I'm in there a LOT with my kids.) There is a story time twice a week that my kids enjoy attending. They use plenty of books, puppets and music to entertain the kids. AND.....best of all.......it is FREE!!! Once a year they even have a Teddy Bear picnic as a special event. The library system in Tucson also is online. You can log in and renew your items online. You can even place holds and requests for materials. This is a terrific feature. Get your card, go online, request your item. They will e-mail you to let you know it is in. Then go to your chosen branch and pick it up. EZ!!! There is always a summer reading program through the Tucson-Pima library system as well. So much to mention .......... Just be sure to go to their web site and check out all your library has to offer!! TPPL.Org more
