Editorial review from Citysearch 5/26/2013

Tucker Tire has the best customer service I have ever seen and I am 78 yrs old. They go out of their way to service you and have the best prices anywhere. I send my daughter, my sister and my wife in there as I know they will be fairly treated. They even mounted tires I purchased elsewhere for my antique car. I highly recommend this company to anyone needing tire or wheels. more

Editorial review from Citysearch 10/28/2012

These guys are helpful and they stay quite busy... probably not a lot of time to answer the phone. I've been to their shop 4 times in the last 2 years and they've pulled/patched nails for free - even before I bought tires from them. I'd say swing by if you need help with your tires and talk to them... they'll probably be able to help. more

Horrible Customer Service... dishonest pricing 4/23/2012

I called Tucker Tire a week ago and got a tire quote for $1032. \r My mom called back a few days ago to order the tires when she asked for the quote they told her $1100 which seemed strange to her considering all the quotes we got before were exact quotes and not rounded numbers like $1100 so she got suspicious and told them that that didn't sound like the number she was quoted a week ago and they assured her it was the same number.\r So I called right back and mention this to them and after a short silence he tells me how there has been a price increase with the manifacturer and the price has gone up. This is not the case with any other tire retailer and they all claim their prices with the retailer have not gone up in the past week.\r After calling other tire companies to try and figure out whether or not I/she was being lied to i tried calling Tucker Tire back....\r now the first few times a called it took them 2-3 CALLS to answer the phone... i figured they were just busy.\r \r I have called them 22 times now (it is still business hours) and let the phone ring all the way through yet nobody is picking up the phone. They must have caller ID :/\r \r Definitely shady. more

Customer service = Fail 9/1/2011

Called about 10 times within the last 3 days and they finally answered the phone. A complete douche answered barely uttering a word when he clunked the phone to his ignorant face. This guy was giving quick one word answers basically trying his best to get me off the phone. I hung up and called right back. To my surprise someone picked up again. Same lousy customer service! I wanted to know my options on a new, used or retreaded tire. He quickly said ""there's no such thing as a retread tire."" Then he spouted off on this rant laughing at the thought that I didn't know the ins and outs of the tire game trying to make me feel inferior. Well I'm sure he's proud of his vast knowledge of rubber, his love of meth and his last three remaining teeth but ""retread"" is in fact a process tough guy. Go to ""The Internet"", find wikipedia, type ""Retread"" with your gorilla fingers. Suck it. more

Cool guys! 7/23/2011

I just learned of these guys calling around to get a nail patched up. I live in Ladera and when calling around all the other tire shops were charging at least 20 bucks to fix it. I think Just Tires wanted $35! Anyways I called these guys and they said bring it down. It's on my wife's van and so she did, 10 minutes later they handed her her keys and said it's all good! Whoa! Went down there today to get my tires rotated. 20 bucks I'm thinking. The guy hands me my keys and says ""It's all taken care of."" I know being a minor deal but man they didn't have to do that at all. They run a business and it takes time for them to do those things. I know it's good business for later because if I need new tires I know where I'm going next. I've never bought tires from them yet but they seem to me like normal, regular guys that do tires. I'd say give em a try I think you'll find it ""cooler"" to deal with actual people running a business rather than some corporate giant selling you stuff. more

Forget Em 7/16/2011

Forget trying to reach these people...I called em over 50 times in 2 days and they never answer their phone. A company that cannot even do certainly isn't going to provide decent customer care once you arrive. Need a quote? Wanna make an appointment? Know your tires need to be special ordered? Forget this company...they DON'T ANSWER THEIR PHONE! That's about the dumbest thing ny company can do...lousy economy or not. There is NO EXCUSE for this. It's just poor management. Beyond poor...it's stupid! more

Best little tire shop in town 7/15/2011

I Have lived in Orange county since 1971. Since I have been old enough to drive I have had a passion for cars and trucks - on road and off road. I know how difficult finding a great vendor can be. Once you find an individual or business you can trust to be honest, fair and competitive you want to hang on to them for as long as possible. A friend referred me to Tucker Tire in Laguna Niguel about 15 years ago. I have since referred many people to the business. I do compare service, price and quality. I will generally give a restaurant or business one, maybe two chances to make me remain loyal after not making the grade on some visit. Tucker Tires has always stepped up and made the visit rewarding. I have never had an unpleasant visit. They are always working their butts off and can't even answer the phone half the time. Just go there and get in line. They are fast and very knowledgeable. Some times they were so busy I left and came back on a different day. You may want to call to make sure they have what you need in stock. The friends I have referred to them tell me similar stories about the great service received and the money saved at the business. I saw a negative review here and was very surprised. I guess there will always be unlucky days for all of us. This compelled me to write a review. I always try to deal with John Tucker, but his family and other staff are professional, competent and good. GO THERE, BUY TIRES - save money- be happy. If you would like to check whether this referral / review is valid - contact mike at linked investigations website. I will be happy to talk! more

Be Careful- Poor customer service 7/13/2011

Been buying tires from them for 25 years. I have sent them at least 40 customers. They always have the best price and are quick. Everything great unless you have a problem. They recommended a set of tires for my car at over $1000.00. I just trusted them and had them installed. Turns out they were noisy to the point that I could not tolerate them on my luxury car. Basically they treated me like I was a jerk when I asked them to do something for me. I know I didn't save enough over the years to make up for the $1000.00 I lost by having to junk my tires with 1200 miles on them. I won't be back more

Best Prices, Honest, Fast And Courteous Service 2/4/2011

I have been buying all of my tires from the guys at Tucker for over 13 years now. I have bought about a dozen sets of tires for the multiple cars I have owned in the last 13 or so years.. I call them up and tell them what I want, they tell me what day they will have them and I go in on that day...pretty simple. They never up charge me and I have never left there feeling like I was taken advantage of like other tire stores. On the day I go in, they tell me to pull around out back, after which I give them my keys. I then relax with some free donuts in the waiting lounge until they come get me. I pay and then go about my day. I think the haters on here would be whining no matter where they went. Tuckers is the best. more

A bunch of con artists 12/16/2010

Before you go to this place, call in advance and make sure they have the brand that you want and get a price. Then shop around and compare this price with other tire dealers. If you show up at the place without calling, then they'll try to sell you an unknown brand where they make the most profit. If you ask for a particular brand, they'll have you wait for at least 5 hours while they order it and the price is not cheap. To add insult to injury, I was quoted a particular price for this junk in-house brand of theirs and then when it was time to pay my bill, they added another $10 per tire to the quoted price.\r Their customer service is condescending and sarcastic and that is being generous. more

Tires? What are Tires? 4/8/2010

I'm a young girl who knows nothing about tires but Tucker Tires always takes care of me. They get me in and out as soon as possible and they never upsell me. The guys there are very friendly and willing to help. I don't think I'd feel comfortable going anywhere else... Pros: Quick, Reliable Service... more

Great Place 1/21/2010

I shopped around for quite awhile and finally landed on Tucker Tire. A few people I know highly recommended them as well. Their prices were by far the best as balancing and installation was included for free. Fast, reliable service. The only place I'll go from now on. more

MOST HONEST COMPANY I HAVE EVER WORKED WITH! 12/14/2009

I have been going to Tucker Tire for years now, and their service is amazing!!! They are honest, and have never charged me for patching tires. Once they gave my daughter a free tire when she was learning how to drive, went over a curb, and flattened her tire! The guys that work there are friendly, and the service is fast! I highly recommend Tucker Tire!!! Pros: Honesty, Integrity, Fast service more

the good stuff 9/16/2009

I am a repeat customer of Tucker tires because they have been honest and never try to upsell me. They have an 'old school' way of doing business by getting it done. No employees just hanging around while your car sits out back. I don't think the wait is any longer than any other place. It just feels longer because there isn't a store to walk around (and spend more money in) to occupy your time. Bring a book and enjoy the break! \r \r As for the phone service, they aren't here for lattes and muffins, they are in the tire business. Get over yourself and drive down there. That's where the good stuff is. Pros: reasonable prices, no 'hanging around' the shop Cons: waiting time is spent in tire storage/waiting room more

Service is #1 3/27/2009

We bought some tires for our car in September of last year, they were great tires. Just a week ago however, someone noticed an apparent defect with the tires and we immediately brought our vehicle back to them (It's almost April). The guys looked at it and mentioned that they'd seen the defect from another customer & without any questions, and right away, they completely replaced all tires at no charge! This insured that I will do business with no one else because of how this company treated us. We've bought tires from them over the years and the tires we most recently bought were rated top of the line in Consumer Reports, but because this set happened to be defective, I really appreciate the honesty and courtesy displayed by Tucker! Thanks. Pros: Out the door pricing / Service & Attitude Cons: Not too bad, but you must wait more

Best place for tires! 10/31/2008

I would never go anywhere else to buy tires. I did not give them 5 stars because they are BUSY and you have to be willing to wait. They are honest and fair. I would rather deal with someone that I can trust then to save few dollars from someone that may cheat me .. mind you, I am NOT suggesting in any way that they are not the cheapest. I don't care ... I go to them for all my tire needs.\r \r Right now I am thinking about, maybe, buying some new wheels for my Aston Martin and Tucker will be the first source that I will check. Pros: Knowledge, service and trust factor. Cons: You have to wait .. and wait .. more

Awful customer service 10/29/2008

These guys don't take reservations for service! They sold my wife a set of tires for a reasonable price, but did not balance them properly. I came back to get them rebalanced and was told to pull around back and was given the impression that I would be taken care of quickly. I sat there for an hour and a half! I asked what was taking so long, and was told that several cars were in front of me. I was here because they didn't do their job right in the first place!!!! They finally rebalanced the tires, I pulled off the lot and drove on the freeway where my SUV continued to shake... these guys are morons who don't know how to balance tires and have awful customer service! Do not go here! Pay the extra $20 and go to costco, discount tires, goodyear... or anywhere but here! more

Always the BEST 10/10/2008

I have used Tucker Tire for 15-20 years and have always gotten GREAT service. Over the years I have purchased high-end tires for my Mercedes sedan and my Mercedes SL coup, All-weather tires for my Ford Explorer and Expedition, and heavy duty tires for my work trucks. They have always given me great advice and prompt service. When I ask for advice they never make me feel like they are trying to sell me their most expensive tires, in fact on several occasions they have recomended lower priced tires that will provide better performance. I have never been disappointed. more
