low prices for great items 4/1/2006

Trader Joes is our favorite grocery store. Their products are all made by the company, there is no middle man. This keeps prices very low. They have a wide variety of products as well. They specialize in organic and pre-made food, and their frozen section is delicious. They also have a large variety of candies and treats. There prices and quality are so good I hope they open one in Akron soon so I don’t have to drive so far. more

Wow, all this stuff! 3/13/2006

I love Trader Joes. For healthy and quick microwave meals this place rocks! Also since I have started to try to eat healthier (gotta watch those pounds that are packing on since I quit smoking) I really don't have to worry when shopping there. They have an awesome selection of healthy nutricious meals and their prices are pretty decent too. I buy a lot of the frozen fruits and pre-packaged meals and I have not had any problems at all. The only things I would stay away from would be the pre-made salads, they don't taste that great and check the dates on the sushi to make sure you are getting the freshest. more

Forget about Whole Foods! 8/16/2005

Ever heard Whole Foods called Whole Paycheck instead? The Cleveland area does not have Whole Foods stores yet, but we do have a host of other "natural food" stores that have the tendency to suck up a whole paycheck. Enter Trader Joe's - an awesome alternative. Tons of prepackaged and prepared foods, fresh flowers and plants, and a fabulous wine and beer selection. All at a more than reasonable price. Also a nice aisle of beauty products and pet foods and supplies. Breads, salads and vegetables and fruits too. In short, a grocery store full of interesting, healthful stuff that you normally don't think you'd be able to afford. Be forwarned however that this place can become a mad house. The shopping center has numerous other stores, and depending on the day and/or time you go, the parking situation can be touchy. Particularly during the holidays. The lines may be long at the checkouts, but they move pretty swiftly, and the staff is very helpful and efficient. The wine selection is fantastic. Buy twelve bottles, doesn't matter if it's a mixed case or all the same, and you'll receive a discount. Trader Joe's also carries Charles Schwab, a/k/a Two Buck Chuck. It's closer to three and half bucks, but still well worth it. The prepared foods are delicious, as are all the frozen entrees I've tried. Trader Joe's also has monstrous wheels of brie - that is if they haven't run out before you've arrived. I shop here before every party I have, and I always stop by for an interesting wine and cheese, or flowers, before I go to someone else's party. Assembling holiday baskets is a cinch too. What did Clevelander's ever do before Trader Joe's?! (There's one on the west side now too, at Crocker Park). more

My New Favorite Store 7/29/2005

I have fallen in love with Trader Joe's. My mom and I went there because we both heard wonderful things about their bruschetta sauce, which turned out to be heavenly. Trader Joe's bakes their own fresh breads (where else can you get whole wheat baguettes?) and makes their own sauces to perfection. They sell sweet organic fruits, dark chocolate with pure cocoa, a large amount of fresh cheese (hard and soft, every type imaginable), and an array of exotic juices. If you're no chef, you can easily combine some of their ingredients for a five-star restaurant tasting meal. I used a soft, whole wheat pita, their delicious & fresh basil & garlic bruschetta sauce (it's what good Italian restaurants put on bread; if you have a Trader Joe's nearby, you *must* try their bruschetta sauce), their shredded mozzerella cheese, some chicken, green pepper, and onion, and made the most delicious pizza. It satisfied my craving, and was healthy & entirely guilt-free. I also found some beautiful orchids and had a hard time deciding which one I wanted! All of their plants are healthy and well-nourished; they sell flowered cacti, bamboo plants, and orchids. It was much more gorgeous than the ones Target sells, much more healthy, and less expensive (only $20, where it's double that in many floral shops). In fact, Trader Joe's keeps their prices low everyday. No sales, no bargains - just everyday low prices. Delicious, high quality foods that supermarkets lack, for one tasty meal. <3 Trader Joe's <3 more
