Knuckleheads caters to your usual assortment of neighborhood drunks, locals and the occasional passer-by. I fell into the third category, and I've been back several times.
The bar itself is nothing special - cigarette and beer scented, beer signs and ads, etc... Clean restrooms and I believe there's a pool table in the back room.
The kitchen puts out some good pub grub, and the bartenders/owners are good people.
Overall, if you're just looking for a drink, and maybe a sandwich, Knuckleheads is worth a stop.

Touch was a great little place to dance when it was open. It hosted some great dj's, had some great nights and attracted a nice group of "heads" from back in the day. Sure, it had it's cosmo swillin', cell phone conversing types here and there, but overall, the mix and the vibe were both good.
The drinks were average priced, but you really came to dance, didn't you? There were times when the basement was not open, and that was when it was not fun.
So, here's to hoping Touch is everything it was and everything we all want it to be. See you there!
Update March 2006:
It is everything it was, I'm happy to report. Nitty Gritty nights have been good old skool nights out and the guest djs are always good. Worth the $5 cover when they're charging it.

Admittedly, I've never eated dinner at Morton's - and mostly because the dining room looks rather stuffy and like the sort of place my grandmother and grandfather frequented on "special" occasions.
The bar however, is another story. It's a lovely little space, tucked into the back of the dining room. All dark wood, leather and intimate groupings of furniture - the overall impression is just plain cozy. But the service is impeccable - it's a fine dining bar experience. The drinks are stiff, the service is friendly but not "chummy" and the prices are fair. I love coming here during the film festival between films for a nice spot to relax away from the crowds.
Now, about that happy hour... free tenderloin sandwiches. They just keep coming around with platters of these delicious little sandwiches. Help yourself, and don't forget to tip your bartender and servers well.

A beautiful space with a full dining room and bar with a piano (my hosts had hired a pianist and a sax player for the evening) - full windows look out over the flats and river below.
The food was outstanding, as anyone who knows Sammy's can tell you. Unpredictable but not fussy or pretentious. The staff was wonderful and unobtrusive, and the bartender earned his jar stuffed with tips by the end of the evening.
Overall a very classy, elegant space to host an evening affair.

I recently attended a wedding at the Avalon, and I was impressed, though some of the facility's decor details seemed a bit over the top (the wall of water in the entry way for example).
The wedding was held outside on the well-landscaped grounds, and though there was a problem with the sound, the whole ceremony was lovely. Plenty of flowers and comfortable chairs for the guests.
The cocktail reception was held in the lobby, and again, everything went smoothly. The staff is extremely professional and non-intrusive.
The dinner was good, and again the service was impeccable.
I've been to a number of weddings at event facilities around the city, and this was definitely one of the better places I've been to. I know it's pricey, but I have a feeling you're getting what you pay for!

Malley's chocolates are exquisite and ridiculous at the same time. Chocolate covered Oreos (Malley Ohs), Billy Bobs (pecans, caramel, chocolate blobby things) and the best freakin' chocolate pretzel candy bar I've ever had. I usually clean out the kids when they're selling them for school projects.
Malley's supports Cleveland fundraisers of all kinds, and very generously. I believe the organization raising the money gets 1/2 of the cost of the sold products, which is more than most chocolate sellers offer. The candy bars are usually a $1 and worth every penny.
Special offerings around the holidays like chocolate covered fresh fruits that are only sold on one day, and tons of special packaging for the holidays.
This is really good chocolate, made right here in Cleveland, and you can even tour the factory on Brookpark Road.

I enjoy browsing at the Mustard Seed Market. The downstairs is a full natural foods market, and the upstairs is a full service restaurant.
Starting with the market - your full compliment of natural foods products, including a nice health and beauty section. Prices that you'd expect, i.e., rather high. Wonderful cheese and olive selection, at somewhat reasonable prices. The wine selection is outstanding, and the descriptions are helpful. The wine prices are excellent - you'll always find something to try for less than $10 a bottle. Awesome prepared foods section as well - sandwiches, sushi, falafel, pizza, breads, chicken, etc... And the prices aren't too bad. You can also buy sodas, teas, waters, etc... by the bottle to complement your carry -out lunch. The salad bar is extensive and lovely, but I think rather pricey.
The upstairs restaurant I am not too impressed with. A bit overpriced I think, and not a great selection. You're better off buying something downstairs and taking it to the park to enjoy your lunch.

The milkshakes are legendary. I don't know what's in them, and I don't care. Perfect dessert after you've eaten something relatively healthy for your meal. They've also got egg creams to die for.
I'm partial to the pita sandwiches - the Quigly is my favorite. Tommy's can make what's essentially grilled cheese into something worth craving.
Usually busy, you will often wait for a table. The sign up sheet method seems to work pretty well, though I'm always worried they'll forget about me. Great for carry out food too.
A Coventry institution - if you find yourself in this neighborhood, you simply must eat at Tommy's. Prices are more than reasonable as well.

Nuevo Acapulco is always busy. Come on a Friday night, or on the weekend, and you will wait for a table, and sometimes for a very long time. Forget about waiting in the bar - unless you feel like elbowing your way through the crowd, it ain't happening. Parking can be a nightmare too - the restaurant's lot tends to fill up quickly. Depending on the time of day, you can usually park in the lots of the closed stores around Neuvo.
The reason for the crowd is that the food is that good. Rumor has it a lot of Cleveland Indians players come here with their families. I've personally never had a sighting, but hey, anything is possible. I have however seen the tequila sample people walking around, and they've made several stops to my table on more than one occasion.
The margaritas are outstanding. Nuevo makes its own mix, and apparently, the restaurant goes through insane quantities of it on a busy evening.
The food is outstanding- I've never had a bad dish here. There are the usual Mexican standards, but also some original plates that are worth trying.
The dining room is big, open and loud. A great place for a large group for a birthday celebration. If you tell them you have a birthday in your party, the guest of honor gets to wear a sombrero and get a photo taken. The sombrero I swear weighs 100 pounds - or maybe that was the tequila weighing on me.

Don Ramon (formerly El Rincon) is a standard Tex Mex style restaurant. The food is always good, though not spectacular. I personally would like everything to be kicked up a notch in the spice department, but I suppose Don Ramon's is catering to a Parma palate. Nothing wrong with that, and there is a selection of hot sauces on each table.
The menu is book-length with plenty of combination plates that are worth selecting. I always try a different combo plate whenever I dine here, but my friend is the #11, every time. He doesn't even look at the menu anymore, so I guess the #11 is that good.
Always chips and salsa when you sit down. Good, thick, yellow corn chips with just the right amount of salt. I'd like a chunkier salsa, but the salsa provided is pleasant.
The ambiance is odd here - the dining room is a strange mix of faux brick and cafeteria/industrial styles, with Mexican bric-a-brac on the walls. The whole space could do with a makeover - I'd wouldn't mind seeing some tile floors and less industrial lighting (read fluroescent). I guess not a lot of people are concerned about the decor, as the place is usually pretty busy, and downright packed on the weekends.
