Before visiting Tomodachi, I had pretty simple sushi tastes. I had never been introduced to rolls of any kind. I kept to the simple piecemeal sushi we all know. I was coaxed into trying the ""Hawaiian"" roll first. Fresh, melt in your mouth Hawaiian tuna draped carefully over a crab roll, then finished with a light ponzu sauce. If food can cause jubilation, then this is it, and from that experience onward I was addicted. Other rolls just made matters worse for me, with names such as Mexican, Albacore Delight, and my favorite, the Andy roll, make this place a must for me. Mind you, its a schlep and a half from the westside (particularly with today's high gas prices), and I have gone far and wide looking for an alternative, but none match Tomodachi in quality, service, and affordability. I've also taken people from out of town there, resulting in rave reviews. Beware, visiting Tomodachi will replace whatever ideal place you go to now. Oh, did I mention their sashimi salad?
Pros: The best sushi in town.
Cons: Its three area codes away.
