I went to Tim's AATCO after going to the dealer. I wanted a second opinion on a noise both myself and the dealer thought may be caused by a problem with the transmission. As I always do nowadays , I looked up reviews on a few websites locally. I noticed Tim's had what I would consider the highest positive rating of any of the shops around. I decided to post my comment to this site because there were a few negatives here… and I can't imagine posting a negative after my experence. Even though the place was very busy , TIm had a mechanic pause what he was working on to take a look at mine. I'm a busy person ( as we all are) so giving me that quick attention was very impressive. After a quick test drive and the mechanic giving it the once over , he told me it needed to be up on the rack so they could listen all the way down the truck from underneath ( he said the sounds that I'm hearing can travel due to shrouds around the engine) . I didn't have any more time to wait that day so I asked If I could bring it back the next day. He said ""Anytime"". \r
I came back the next day and again , he stopped what he was doing to rearrange things and got my truck up on the rack , without any prodding from me ( And believe me I can prod ). After no more than 10 minutes his mechanic reported back that it wasn't the transmission at all , the sound was coming from the alternator. He handed me back the keys , and you could tell he was happy to report back that this was not a big problem for me! NO CHARGE.\r
How unusual is it where a shop owner goes out of his way to satisfy a customer without any gain for himself. I think this shop has a higher moral compass than I've experienced from other shops in my life. Not that I want Tranny problems , but If I do , I will return to Tim's!
