A Fort Lauderdale / Las Olas Downtown staple! Love the blueberry martinis, and the apps. Clam chowder was super fresh, and a great place to go for live jazz in the 954. And by the way I'm 25, its definitely NOT for old people! If you appreciate good cocktails, live jazz, and good food, this is the place! more

This place brings me back home. Timpano is reminiscent of the classic restaurants and clubs of Chicago. I have always received prompt and attentive service here. \r \r They feature big flavorful steaks, chops and pasta along with a nice selection of full-bodied red wines. And let's not forget about their LARGE martinis. This restaurant has a sophisticated setting, great food, and live music in the lounge. \r \r Live music seems to be a thing of the past which is crazy! This place offers a great selection of well-known jazz groups. Get up and dance...you won't be alone!\r \r I always recommend Timpano to friends. There are several steak or chophouses to choose from and with Timpano being at a lower price point, you really can't go wrong. more

They changed the menu and removed all of the best stuff! The mussels were all burned and dry. What a dissapointment. more

Where to start? Service outstanding. Our steaks; filet and NY strip perfectly prepared. Sides delicious. more

Where do I begin? Three of us dined the other night at Timpanos - we ordered the flatbread with sausage and carmelized onions and that was just "okay". One of us had the strip, I had the aged filet, bone in and my other friend had the largest steak... I can't recall the cut. All were ridiculously tender and perfectly seasoned. The sides: whipped mash, asparagus and macaroni weren't as impressive in quantity or taste. Desert was off to a Rocky start with super bland tiramisu but they replaced it with the amazing mouse chocolate cake which is layered high and decadently paired with rich cookies and cream ice cream that will make you feel completely nostalgic for your childhood. Add to that the cheesecake pops in reeses and key lime and we were on a sugar high. Oh, our drinks were great. Premium liquor, heavy handed bartender, double glass standard. Very nice. Service was phenomenal and the music too. Three people: $260 inclusive of tip. more

Timpano is the best all-around restaurant on Las Olas-and we've tried them all. \r \r The atmosphere is excellent, especially when the live band plays on weekends. The food is always superb. And the fresh pasta (the spaghettini and plum tomatoes) is simply the best Italian dish on a street known for good food--pure, simple, fresh ingredients combined to create great flavors. The wedge salad is always perfect (the people at Rok Brgr should try it and learn from it). And the balsamic reduction on the tomato flatbread is to die for.\r \r They also have an excellent wine list (though the beer list could be better). more

DIned here before and I would dine here again. The steak was very good and cooked to order and the mashed potatoes were tasty. My husband's crispy chicken was not as crispy or as big as he anticipated but good nonetheless. Overall, a good place to have a good meal. more

Wonderful Atmosphere, friendly staff, the Mussels were out of this world. Great Happy Hour spot. Can't wait to have dinner there. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 1/6/2010

The mussels are amazing. The filet is good, medium-rare comes out medium+ but the blue cheese crust was amazing. The staff was amazingly accomodating and if you have a chance, try to be seated with "Pepe". Great attitude. more

Perfection at its Best 2/16/2009

2/14/2009 had the v-day special was so pleased the food was cook to perfection . the waitress was kind and very helpful . The service was great . My date and I had the worst table but the best food and the best service . I will be coming back for more . Pros: Food was perfect Cons: was crowed more

Dont get steak here. Waste of money here. 5/20/2008

Waste of our money. Very noisy. The worst NY strip steak we ever had. Very overrated. The waitress spoke to us like we were children. more

A little disappointed. 12/2/2006

My husband and I were seated at 7:15 for a 7:00 reservation which I don't mind, but we were ignored for a good 10 minutes, after the hostess tried to seat us at a horrible table in the most remote possible corner in the lounge. I am not going to pay $20.00 for a pork chop and have to sit at a patio table which was so crowded with the space, not the people, that I kept bumping into the lady behind me. The ala carte menu was not worth the price and my grilled vegetables were cold. Maybe they were having an off night, but I felt like the waiters couldn't figure out who was going to wait on us and we had spotty service at that. I won't be rushing back and I didn't feel like I should have tipped 20%. Pros: Nice pork chop Cons: very noisy, spotty service, hostess was a little aloof more

Bad to Eat, Easy to Sit 2/17/2006

I was surprised that the food was so bad. The hosts were nice in seating us quickly, but the food was certainly not worth waiting for anyway: salad was terrible, lasagna was nothing special, and steak was overcooked. The service was ok, but made few mistakes in delivering the food, which had to be returned. For the cost, I don't think it's worth it. Pros: Location, Prompt Seating, Nice hosts Cons: Food, Price, Service mistakes more

The food is very good (try the muscles) but the atmosphere is better. Fantastic bar on the weekends when the music is live. Sit back, have a cocktail and enjoy the smooth sounds of clasic lounge performers. Pros: Music, Food more

  • Timpano Las Olas has been a Fort Lauderdale staple since its debut in 1999. The newly reimagined Timpano offers a bold approach to contemporary dining for guests who want to be surrounded by sophistication with a modern menu inspired by culinary heritage. Rich emeralds, gold tones, and splashes of color fill the space with a subtle hint of a speakeasy vibe. A nod to South Florida's iconic art deco design, Timpano's interior is characterized by striking color combinations of emeralds, aubergines, golds, and pops of pink. Complementing design inspiration includes bold geometrics throughout the space, such as a black and white checkerboard floor tile, flame stitch and metal-chain curtains, and customized wall coverings that bares Timpano's signature icon - the peacock.
