We recently completed a 3 day stay at the above inn. The place is most charming and beautifully decorated for both the fall and Christmas! Doris and Bert Tyson were very charming hosts. A return visit is in order! more

The location is great. We could walk just 4 blocks to Bube's Brewery, where we had drinks and dinner in the biergarten (HIGHLY recommend!). We also walked around town, and the house is diagonal from a beautiful park where you could have a picnic. In addition, the owner gave us lots of info on local fireworks shows for the night we were there. So we drove just 3 miles down the road to Marietta and watched a wonderful display from a hillside (we'd never have know about this without her input). more

We had a great stay, our room was beautiful and clean and the bathroom that went with our room was huge....loved it. The entire house is decorated so nice and Doris's cooking can't be beat. The food is great and lots of it. Doris and her husband were very sweet people and nice to talk to. Doris had a lot of ideas for things to do in the area. She provided us with books that also suggested near by activites and fun things to get in to. Awesome stay! more

The Victorian Rose was wonderful. Doris and her husband go out of their way to make you feel welcome and like part of the family. She is a great cook and a fantastic conversationalist. The rooms are clean, neat and each is unique. I was pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. When we were there Doris had all the halloween decorations out and the beginnings of Christmas. It was so beautiful and warm. Thank you Doris and hubby for a wonderful stay in your home. It was like being at home and I can't wait to come see you two again more

sitting on the spacious front porch and watching Mount Joy ""go by"" and then going into the comfortable dining room for a glorious breakfast was a great way to start the day. Their slogan is, ""Where our guests are like family"" and I told Doris this was accurate; she bossed me around just like my wife does when we're home! more

The Victorian Rose is a lovely bed and breakfast in Mt. Joy. The innkeeper is an older woman who can serve a good breakfast. The whole house is decorated for Christmas including a tree in the living area. more

Our room (the Elizabeth) was very clean and ornately decorated. There was a tree dedicated to the red hat society in it that was very pretty. \r \r Our room had a bathroom in it. The other rooms are larger than the Elizabeth but the bathrooms for them are across the hall (they each have a bathroom but you have to go across the hall to get to them.)\r \r The owner was very friendly and prepared a bountiful breakfast for us. We had strawberry shortcake, a large plate of cut fruit, delicious french toast with real Vermont maple syrup and crispy bacon. She even offered seconds but we declined. The owner has obviously painstakingly decorated the entire house. If you like victorian, you'll love the victorian rose. more

The place is spotlessly clean. Our bathroom was gleaming. Our bedroom was crisp, neat, and totally clean. This is an incredibly important factor in selecting a place. I give top points to this establishment for cleanliness. more
