I first ate out at the now famous Salt Lick Barbeque back in 1973. It was then and is still, the best barbeque I have ever eaten. Back then, I didn't know whether it was the long night before at the Armadillo World Headquarters, and my enormous case of the munchies, or if the barbeque was really that good. Well, I can say now after slowing down a bit and sampling barbeque all over my native Texas that the Salt Lick is by far the most consistent, (after nearly 30 years)and most delicious barbeque in Texas.
Pros: pretty drive there, plenty of parking, relaxed atmosphere
Cons: no in-town delivery, no beer on tap
