I love the Elk! Sitting in historic Brown's Addition, this place actually used to be a drug store at one time. It has a copper bar that is almost as well polished as its wood floors. Smoking is outside on the porch only, but on a good day it's the perfect place to people watch over a good cigar, one of the best meals you'll ever have in Spokane, and a pint of any number of regional microbrews that they have on tap. They always keep one ale in a cask, served at cellar temperature, and that's also always worth checking out. The crowd is incredibly diverse, polite, and friendly. Ask any of them what their favorite spot in Spokane is and they'll just smile... -Chuck
