Overcrowded for it's building size 3/14/2012

The Butterfly Place is nice with many varieties of butterflies. My major concern is the size of the facility and number of people they admit into the building. The day I was there was a Sunday and you could not walk around as there were far too many people in the building. As a result, it was not enjoyable. They really need to limit the number of people admitted into the facility at any one given time. more

Its Good For Little Kids 3/7/2006

The Butterfly Place is only good for little kids. It is very small and basically it is just a big room with plants and trees and walkways and has butterflys floating akll over the place. The butterflys will land on your shoulder and can be cool as a first time visit for little kids. However, it is not really worth a second visit. more

This is an out of the way, unexpected place to visit. It is a large atrium that houses butterflies in various stages of development. You can walk through and see many different varieties close up. It's kept very warm inside so bear that in mind. There are guides inside the atrium to answer any questions you or your children might have. It is handicapped accessible as well. You can take as much time as you want looking around and I would recommend a camera! There is also a cute gift shop with, of course, butterfly inspired gifts and souvenirs and a picnic area outside to eat. You can use your WGBH membership for a discounted admission. more
