Found this place about two years ago. Everything I've had at the Taj Palace is far superior than any Indian restaurant I've ever frequented. Scallop and Shrimp app. and Tandoori app. are perfect starters. The Malai Kafta, Shrimp Dansik and Chicken Tikka Masala are stand outs. Want it hot? Ask. Haven't had a bad dish yet. As far as courtesy, they are very pleasant. Me, being a somewhat miserable individual, consider this high praise. Sure, in the beginning no one smiled, including me. They smile at me now and sometimes I even smile back. They're very serious. Even if they didn't smile, I'd still go back. Truly spectacular cuisine. And the decor is original 1983, when they opened. Retro reality. Even Gandhi smiles down on you at the little table to the side. All others pale in comparison. Love it, love it, luh-uh-uv it. See you there. I'll have the black carnation in my lapel, not smiling, eating.
Pros: Great food. Inexpensive. Cordial. Retro feel. Great mood music.
Cons: Too far from my house to eat there every night.
